Quick picks for this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 76 card

2015-UFC-Fight-Night-76-Main-Card-Odds

This Saturday, the UFC heads to Dublin, Ireland for a Fight Night card filled with local Irish and European talent. Unfortunately, both the original main event and the co-feature were pulled from the card due to injury, leaving the Irish fans with a main card that’s devoid of any big names. But the show must go on, and you can still bet on the entire fight card at our sportsbook.

If you haven’t gotten a chance to read our previews of each fight on the main card, we’ve got a quick breakdown of our picks to win. Head over to the sportsbook now to get your bets in!

FLYWEIGHT HEADLINER

Louis Smolka -120 vs. Paddy Holohan +100

Round total: 2.5 rounds, over -185, under +160

Holohan and Smolka go from the prelims to the main event in just a matter of days. Holohan, a teammate of McGregor, is a fighter that can do a little bit of everything, though he specializes in submissions. Smolka is a rangy striker by nature, but his high-volume striker lacks power. While Holohan is an underdog, I think he can exploit the holes in Smolka’s defense and do enough in front of his hometown crowd to pull off a victory.

The safest play here is the over on 2.5 rounds, as neither man is a known finisher.

LIGHTWEIGHTS: Norman Parke -270 vs. Reza Madadi +225

Round total: 2.5 rounds, over +215, under -260

Although Parke has a strong background in judo, he’s been developing into a kickboxer at Alliance MMA. Although the camp boasts decorated strikers like Dominick Cruz and Alexander Gustaffson, Parke hasn’t evolved into anything special on the feet. He might not need his standup, as Madadi is almost entirely a freestyle wrestler - and a good one at that.

If Parke didn’t have stout takedown defense, I’d be tempted to make a small bet on Madadi, but he should be able to keep the fight standing and pick him apart. Also, the over has fantastic value, as there is a great chance this fight is spent in the clinch as Madadi tries to get Parke to the ground.

THE PICK: Miocic by TKO in the third

WELTERWEIGHTS: Nicolas Dalby -135 vs. Darren Till +115

Round total: 2.5 rounds, over -180, under +155

Former Cage Warrios champion Nicolas Dalby will face former Muay Thai world champion Darren Till in a matchup of unbeaten prospects. While it’s easy to be tempted Till’s elite striking background, you shouldn’t overlook the experience Dalby has gained in a triple-A promotion like Cage Warriors. Dalby is the more polished prospect with a more well-rounded toolkit, giving him more paths to victory.

WELTERWEIGHTS: Nicolas Dalby -137 vs. Darren Till +117

Round total: 2.5 rounds, over -185, under +160

Two undefeated prospects meet in Denmark’s Nicolas Dalby and England’s Darren Till. Till is a decorated Muay Thai champion with plus standup game. However, Dalby is one of the most polished European prospects at welterweight. I particularly like the fact that Dalby was a Cage Warriors champion, as it’s one of Europe’s best MMA promotions.

This one should be pretty close, but Dalby has more tools to work with and more experience against better competition. Dalby to win is fairly good value at -137, but the over is a safer play considering that Till will probably try to get this fight to the ground.
