UFC odds online: Does Matt Brown (19-13, 12 KOs, 5 SUBs) have another comeback in him? After a seven-fight winning streak that brought the 34-year old welterweight on the cusp of title contention, Brown has now lost two in a row.
He’ll look to bounce back against veteran Tim Means (24-6, 16 KOs, 4 SUBs) at UFC 189 in Las Vegas. Amazingly, this fight will be on the FOX Sports 1 prelim portion of the event.
Currently, Bookmaker’s UFC 189 odds have Brown as a minus-200 favorite, with Means’ money line at plus+170. However, with Bookmaker’s daily updates, these odds are subject to change up to fight night. Full odds, like the over/under and prop bets are typically listed a few days before the event, so keep checking the sportsbook for the latest updates and additions.
Matt Brown’s career resurgence was certainly a feel-good story, peaking with five-straight KO victories leading up to a title eliminator bout with Robbie Lawler. Unfortunately, Brown came out on the wrong end of a unanimous decision and then lost his next bout to former champion Johny Hendricks. He still remains a top-10 fighter, but a loss to Means would effectively end his comeback.
Means has won four in a row since a loss to hot prospect Neil Magny in May 2014. While none of the fighters he’s beaten during this streak have been especially notable, it has put him in a position to break into the top-10 with a win over Brown. At 31 years old, Means has bounced from KOTC to the UFC to Legacy and back to the UFC again – but now just seems to be hitting his groove as an upper-tier welterweight.
If you bet on Brown vs. Means with our UFC 189 online odds, I think Brown can do a lot for you. His only losses in the three years have come against arguably the two best guys in the division, and Means certainly isn’t on the same level as Lawler or Hendricks. What’s more, Brown is probably pretty insulted that he’s been relegated to the prelims, and will likely be itching to make a statement to get back onto the main card. The pick here is Brown to win by TKO in the third.
