UFC 194 odds - Checking in on the money lines for the year’s biggest card

2015-UFC-194-odds-update---Conor-McGregor

We’re less than two weeks away from one of the biggest cards of the year, UFC 194. Because of the hype surrounding the event, BookMaker has had odds posted for the card for months now. Let’s check in to assess any line movement since our last update, which took place in late September.

UFC 194 odds at BookMaker.eu

MAIN EVENT: Featherweight Championship

JOSE ALDO +143

CONOR MCGREGOR -165

Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -115, under -105

In the span of two months, McGregor has shifted from -175 to -165, with Aldo shifting two points from +145. It seems as the action is pretty even between the two, with slightly more bets coming in on Aldo to retain the championship over Conor McGregor.

CO-MAIN EVENT: Middleweight Championship

CHRIS WEIDMAN -175

LUKE ROCKHOLD +145

Over/under 3.5 rounds, over -105, under -115

Weidman slides further into chalk territory, as he opened at -165. Rockhold goes up five points from +140. As good as Rockhold has been, it seems more and more bettors are starting to recall how scary Weidman can be. He has yet to lose a professional fight and has only gotten better each time out.

MIDDLEWEIGHTS

RONALDO SOUZA -170

YOEL ROMERO +145

Over/under 1.5 rounds, over -170, under +150

Minimal movement here, with Souza shifting from -167 to -170. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen “Jacare” in action, but this middleweight title eliminator will lock up his long awaited shot at the title. I’d expect Souza to close around -180.

WOMEN’S STRAWWEIGHTS

MICHELLE WATERSON +120

TECIA TORRES -150

Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -280, under +240

It seems as if action on Waterson is driving her price to go up - her money line has moved 13 points from +133. Torres is slightly more expensive as well, from -147 to -150. Waterson’s popularity might drive her price further into chalk territory. However, “The Karate Hottie” will be at a size disadvantage as she move up a weight class for her UFC debut.

LIGHTWEIGHTS

MAX HOLLOWAY -401

JEREMY STEPHENS +295

Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -160, under +140

Holloway is now an even bigger favorite, as he was formerly at -375 a few months ago. Stephens gets even cheaper from his original +285 price tag. Holloway is too good of a prospect not to love, and bettors are acting accordingly.

WELTERWEIGHTS

DEMIAN MAIA -145

GUNNAR NELSON +115

Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -200, under +170

The money lines in this fight have been stagnant, with no movement for each fighter. I’d expect Maia, a proven contender, to get more expensive closer to fight night. Even at 38, he’s still one of the toughest outs in the division and his world-class BJJ credentials make him a tough matchup for grappling specialist like Gunnar Nelson.
