LIVE DOGS

Edson Barboza +120 vs. Anthony Pettis -150

Andre Fili +130 vs. Yair Rodriguez -150

Chris Kelades vs. Sergio Pettis ODDS COMING SOON

If Pettis vs. Barboza turns into a kickboxing match -- and it most likely will -- both men have the dynamic power to end the fight with a single strike. What’s more, each man possesses elite striking skills and hold some of the best highlight reel kicks in UFC history. Pettis is probably a bit more creative, which explains the UFC odds at BookMaker, but Barboza is no less dangerous. This is a toss-up.

Rodriguez has a good amount of hype as the TUF: Latin America winner, and he’s made good in both his post-show bouts. But he’s taking a big step up against Fili, who is an experienced veteran with knockout power. Considering that Y-Rod is still develping his standup, there’s a good chance that Fili lights him up on the feet.

Sergio Pettis again fights on the same card as his older brother, and his famous surname likely explains his status as a favorite. At 22, we don’t know how good he can be -- though he’s not developing as fast as his brother. Pettis is fighting a grown man in Chris Kelades, who can make this battle ugly and grind out the young fighter.

WARM ‘DOGS

Rafael Natal +267 vs. Robert Whittaker -338

Whittaker is an up-and-coming beast for sure, but Natal is one of those veteran submission artists that can quickly shut down a youngster. His preferred gameplan is to latch himself onto his opponents and control the fight with a steady stream of submission attempts -- which is an effective way to win on points. Whittaker is probably too strong for this, but it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility.

DEAD ‘DOGS

Ovince St. Preux +376 vs. Jon Jones -471

Henry Cejudo +325 vs. Demetrious Johnson -400

Unfortunately, the main and co-main events don’t seem like they’ll be all that close. In the case of Ovince St. Preux, he has the very unlucky task of welcoming perhaps the greatest fighter of all time back to the octagon after more than year of taking crap from journalists, fans and the media for his legal issues. Bones has got to be revved up to get a win in emphatic fashion, and under those circumstances there’s not a 205er alive that can stop him.

The first few rounds of Cejudo vs. Johnson might be close, but DJ’s pace and diverse skill-set should start separating the two from the third round on. Cejudo’s Olympic-level wrestling is a threat, but no flyweight has been able to keep Mighty Mouse grounded.
