The People’s Card is upon us. UFC 211, the best damn card we’ve seen in awhile, is just a few days aways. With two title fights, contender scraps, former champs and hot prospects from top to bottom, this night is so stacked that Eddie Alvarez, just one fight removed from being the lightweight champion, is on the FX prelims.
There’s no gimmick money fights and no interim title BS. This is just pure MMA goodness, and that’s why it’s The People’s Card. Let’s get into the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu and make some predictions that should guide your picks for the night.

Main Event
Heavyweight Championship
Junior Dos Santos +110
Stipe Miocic -140
Over/under 1.5 rounds, over -190, under +181
Prediction: Gonna Be Boxing Match
Miocic is good at everything, including wrestling. But he’s no Cain Velasquez, and Brown Pride is the only guy that’s able to consistently put JDS on the mat. The challenger’s sprawl is legit, and his hips let him get back up even if he does find himself on the back.
That means most of this scrap is going to be contested in the standup phase, and in that scenario the fight becomes super close. Don’t forget, Dos Santos has already beaten Miocic before, and that first encounter turned out to be a gritty, gutsy striking war.
JDS has a good shot at an upset. The problem here is that he’s taken so much damage over the course of his career that it’s hard to have faith that he holds up up for five rounds against a fresher Miocic. With so much action on JDS in recent weeks, Miocic’s line is extremely affordable for a matchup that’s winnable.
UFC odds pick: Stipe Miocic to win at -140
Co-Main Event
Strawweight Championship
Joanna Jedrzejczyk -160
Jessica Andrade +130
Over/under 3.5 rounds, over -200, under +170
Prediction: Andrade Starts Strong, Fades Late
Claudia Gadelha proved that J-Check can be overpowered. But Joanna Champion proved that you’ve gotta be able to go hard for five rounds. Andrade, a former bantamweight, is a similar fighter to Gadelha. She’s a huge, explosive strawweight with muscular build.
That means she’ll look great early, with her power punching and pressure. But Joanna might be one of the best-conditioned athletes in the entire UFC. What’s more, she makes you keep up at her pace. Andrade will be sucking wind by the end of round 3.
You’ve got two good choices here, Joanna to win and the over on 3.5 rounds at -200. We’re picking the over, as Joanna does have some upset potential.
UFC odds pick: Over 3.5 rounds -200
Lightweight
Frankie Edgar -135
Yair Rodriguez +105
Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -238, under +198
Prediction: Yair Puzzles “The Answer”
Yair is young stud that has the cardio, athleticism and the balls to throw anything and everything for three straight rounds. That unpredictable style is gonna stymy Frankie, who will have a ton of trouble try to muzzle “Pantera” with his technical boxer-wrestler style.
If this were a five-round fight, I’d have faith in Edgar figuring it out. But Yair can absolutely take two of three rounds with unpredictable strikes alone. Plus, he’s the smaller guy with shorter range, which means he’s walking through a minefield any time he wants to do anything.
At +105, Yair is a good underdog. I love Frankie, but Rodriguez is ready to become a star now. If you were smart, you bet on Pantera when he was +150.
UFC odds pick: Rodriguez to win at +150
Welterweight
Demian Maia -111
Jorge Masvidal -119
Over/under 1.5 rounds, over -170, under +155
Prediction: Maia Impersonates An Anaconda
Masvidal just laid waste to Cowboy Cerrone for the biggest win of his career. Maia’s all like “cool story, bro”. The Brazilian submission machine is on a six-fight winning streak, including wins over Carlos Condit, Matt Brown, Gunnar Nelson and Neil Magny. That’s a murderer’s row that includes striking specialists, grappling savants and wrestlers.
I’m surprised that Maia isn’t a bigger favorite here. -111 is an extremely affordable money line for a guy that has been as dominant as anybody at welterweight in the past two years. The master of BJJ will suffocate “Gamebred’s” offense.
UFC odds pick: Maia to win at -111
LIghtweight
Dustin Poirier -137
Eddie Alvarez +107
Over/under 1.5 rounds, over -220, under +185
Prediction: A Bloody Good Brawl Ensues
Alvarez is a great fighter, but he tends to fight to the level of his competition. With the exception of a flash knockout of Rafael Dos Anjos, he’s been eking out wins in the UFC. That should be the same case against Dustin Poirier.
Let’s just hope that the Alvarez from Dream and Bellator show up. That version of Eddie was a guy that loved to throw down. Poirier’s the type of fighter who loves to mix it up too. This has the potential to be an epic scrap.
This seems like a 50-50 fight to me, and it’s shocking that Alvarez has gone from a favorite to underdog in a few short weeks. He has the ability to stifle Poirier with a grinding clinch game that we saw against Gilbert Melendez and Anthony Petis.
UFC odds pick: Alvarez to win at +107
