Despite the cliche, this Saturday’s UFC 213 is loaded. Almost every fight on the main card is either a title fight or features a former champion. And that’s just scratching the surface of epic potential.
Feast on this:
The championship matchups feature Amanda Nunes and Yoel Romero, the two most violent fighters in their respective divisions. Heavyweight knockout artist Alistair Overeem meets BJJ ace Fabricio Werdum. And “Showtime” Pettis clashes with Jim Miller, who has a Fight of the Year and 9 post-fight bonuses under his belt.
Ridiculous, huh? Let’s get right into the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu and make some common sense betting picks.

Main Event, Women’s Bantamweight Championship
Amanda Nunes - 125
Valentina Shevchenko -105
Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -145, under +125
Matchup & Betting Analysis
In consecutive fights, Nunes has retired the two biggest stars in her division. She demolished Miesha Tate in under four minutes and took less than 50 seconds to smash through Ronda Rousey. She’s easily the most explosive striker at 135 pounds and her knockout power is unparalleled.
But she’s going to have a much tougher time against Valentina Shevchenko, who has a world-class Muay Thai background. The champion’s power and athleticism gives her a slight advantage on the feet, but Shevchenko is durable and much harder to hit clean then Tate or Rousey.
The biggest question here is whether Nunes’ cardio holds up. In their first match - a three-rounder - Nunes won the first two rounds but gassed in the third. Had the fight been five full rounds, it’s very plausible that Shevchenko could have gutted out a comeback.
How You Should Bet
With Nunes at American Top Team, her cardio has likely improved - it’s still not something you want to bet on. Then again, you probably don’t want to bet against her knockout power. Instead of picking a winner, go with the over on 2.5 rounds. Shevchenko is a tough, tough out and usually takes her time settling in.
UFC odds pick: Over 2.5 rounds at -145
Co-Main Event, Interim Middleweight Championship
Yoel Romero - 130
Robert Whittaker +100
Over/under 1.5 rounds, over -155, under +135
Matchup Preview & Analysis
Romero is hands down the scariest middleweight in the world. Even at 40 years old, he is still one of the best athletes in the division, and he only requires a single burst of energy to end the night. But like Nunes, Romero has cardio issues - and his are even more pronounced.
Whittaker is fast, well-conditioned and an excellent boxer. He’s not going to be trying to take down an Olympian wrestler in Romero, so this fight will play out on the feet. Against Jacare Souza, Whittaker was able to pressure a BJJ fighter, fend off the takedowns and light him up with boxing.
The 26-year old Aussie will likely follow the same plan against Romero in efforts to exhaust him, but the issue here is that Romero hits harder and has much more effective takedowns than Jacare.
How You Should Bet
There are two solid options here. The first is Romero to win, as he’s not too expensive a favorite and is the more physically gifted fighter. The other is the over on 1.5 rounds. The low round total is expected given Romero’s awesome finishing ability, but his last seven fights have gone to a third round - it takes a while for him to pick his shots.
UFC odds pick: Over 1.5 rounds -155
Heavyweight
Alistair Overeem -137
Fabricio Werdum +107
Over/under 1.5 rounds, over -170, under +150
Matchup Preview & Analysis
Overeem is an absolute beast, but his chin is approaching Arlovski-like level of fragility. The man cannot take more than a few clean shots before he’s put in a state that he can’t recover from. Still, he’s so good with his limbs that the Dutch kickboxer usually ends the night before opponents can clock him.
The best way to challenge Overeem is to push the pace - the big man has had historical cardio issues. But that means Werdum would have to place himself in considerable danger to get his hands on the former Strikeforce champion. Still, if anyone can make a fight ugly, it’s Werdum.
How You Should Bet
It’s too hard to trust Overeem these days. Werdum might have been iced cold by Stipe Miocic, but it’s hard to believe he’ll blindly charge at another knockout artist again. Instead, I expect him to try and drag this into deep water, and eventually pick off a tired fighter.
UFC odds pick: Werdum to win at +107
