The FXX prelims for this Saturday’s UFC 214 could easily be it’s own Fight Night. Though Korean slugger Doo Ho Choi has been ruled out, we still get three sweet scraps with very high stakes: former bantamweight champion Renan Barao meets Aljamain Sterling at catchweight, undefeated featherweight prospects Renato Mociano and Brian Ortega put their flawless records on the line and UFC golden boy Sage Northcutt will look to avoid a second straight loss.
Let’s take a look at the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu and get into your betting options. Be sure to keep an eye out for our main card quick picks, which should release on Thursday.

Prelim Feature, 140-Pound Catchweight
Renan Barao +110
Aljamain Sterling -140
Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -235, under +195
Betting Analysis
NSAC refused to let Barao fight at bantamweight, citing previous failures to make weight. The extra five pounds should help the Brazilian’s cardio - as it’s been an on-and-off issue for the former champion.
On paper, this matchup favors Barao, whose Muay Thai has evolved over the years to the point it’s on par with his BJJ black belt credentials. Sterling is a very good athlete without much of a striking game and an NCAA DIII wrestling background. When it comes to a pure skills comparison, Barao has reached elite levels in more areas than Sterling. The former champ gets the nod in a close matchup.
UFC odds pick: Barao to win at +110
Featherweight
Renato Moicano -140
Brian Ortega +110
Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -220, under +180
Betting Analysis
Moicano opened a lot of eyes in his last outing against Jeremy Stephens. I really thought it was too soon for the Brazilian to face a perennial contender, but the undefeated Brazilian acquitted himself well on the feet - against an accomplished striker - and gutted out a split decision win.
Ortega is a straight up wild man, but his method of madness has got him to a 10-0 record. It’s awesome how “T-City” is ultra-aggressive and willing to take risks, but Moicano proved against Stephens that he could stay composed in a firefight. The Brazilian’s expert grappling skills could also give Ortega serious problems.
UFC odds pick: Moicano to win at -140
