Welcome back, Carlos Condit. After more than a year on the sidelines getting his mind right, “The Natural Born Killer” will return to the octagon this Saturday night to meet No. 11 Neil Magny. Though his prime is past, as are his chances at ever becoming a champion, the UFC is just better with high-octane fighters like Condit around.
Welcoming the 33-year old back to the UFC is Neil Magny, a well-respected veteran who signature wins over Kelvin Gastelum, Hector Lombard and Johny Hendricks.
Let’s take a look at the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu and break down the matchup, along with your best betting options.

Fight Preview
Both men are long, rangy fighters that love to throw in volume. Bottomless gas tanks let each set a high pace and give them above average recovering ability. While Magny does have the ability to wrestle, he doesn’t have the natural power or size to overwhelm a guy like Condit and take him to the mat.
Expect a compelling kickboxing matchup to take shape. Condit has the more diverse offensive arsenal. Both creative and unpredictable, the Jackson-Wink protege will mix up typical punch-kick combinations with flying knees and spinning salvos. His awkward rhythm makes him difficult to time, and he’ll throw when opponents are least expecting it.
Magny is far more your typical striker, always working behind a stiff jab. At 6’3”, he’s one of the division’s tallest fighters and makes full use of his height. If the lead hand is landing, Magny’s game opens up beautifully, as he’ll often follow up combinations by flicking his long legs out to keep opponents at distance.
In this matchup, Condit has to pressure Magny and make him fight in a phone booth. Magny is clearly uncomfortable when dealing with pressure, and Rafael dos Anjos was able to light him up quickly by getting close. Of course, Magny could respond by shooting a nice blast double, but he doesn’t have the top control to grind out a win from the top.
UFC Betting Tips
This is a difficult fight to pick, as they’re very closely matched. But Condit is an out-fighter, and that style should funnel him into Magny’s jab. If things get too hairy on the feet, Magny at least has the option of scoring points with takedowns, although he’s got to be careful of Condit’s active guard. A small bet on Magny at this price makes sense.
The other pick here is the rounds over. While both men have been finished early in the past, those losses came against opponents who could overwhelm them in distinct weak areas. Expect a back-and-forth fight that leads to a decision here.
UFC Odds Pick: Over 2.5 rounds at -130
