2017-UFC-MMA-Undercard-Fight-preview-Jury-vs-Glenn-Bet-Online

Myles Jury takes on Rick Glenn in a featherweight battle at UFC 219 on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Jury is 16-2 in his career and 7-2 in the UFC, while Glenn is 20-4-1 and 2-1 in the UFC. This fight is one of four on the FS1 portion of the preliminary card, leading up to a four-fight main pay-per-view card featuring Cris Cyborg vs. Holly Holm. Let’s look at the bout between Jury and Glenn, UFC 219 odds and picks.

Bet on UFC at BookMaker.eu

Myles Jury (16-2, 7-2 UFC)

Jury looked really good before he came into the UFC, as he won his first nine bouts. He continued that success in the UFC by winning his next six fights to improve to 15-0. Jury got his first big fight in January of 2015 against Donald Cerrone but Jury lost by unanimous decision. Jury didn’t fight again for almost a year and lost to Charles Oliveira in December of 2015. Jury was out for another year and a half but he did bounce back to knock out Mike De La Torre in April of 2017 at UFC 210.

Jury has 10 knockout wins and three wins by submission. He has 12 first round finishes.

Rick Glenn (20-4-1, 2-1 UFC)

Glenn has fought three times in the UFC, losing his debut against Evan Dunham in September of 2016 but beating Philippe Nover in February and Gavin Tucker in September of this year. Glenn said to MMAWeekly.com that he is happy to be making progress. “I did well. I got the wins,” Glenn said, “I’ve just been progressing with each fight. It’s good to just keep learning and growing. It doesn’t really matter (the fights went to decision), as long as I get the win.”

Glenn said he likes this matchup against Jury. “I like the match-up,” Glenn said, “We’re the same age. He’s been around just as long as I have, fighting all over; he’s a skilled veteran himself. I’ve just got to stay sharp and not make any mistakes.” Glenn said he also needs to start finishing his opponents. “I’m going to need those spectacular wins over some good opponents in order to start knocking on the door for title fights. I need to get finishes. It’s not just about winning. I’ve got to look good doing it too.”

UFC Picks

The first thing that sticks out to me about this fight is the price. Why is Jury more than a 2-1 favorite? He does have more UFC experience but it is not like he has beaten anyone of note. Glenn has proven to be a capable UFC fighter and his level of competition has been as good as Jury’s. I think there is a lot of value in taking Glenn in a fight that I think could go either way. I also think there is some value on the rounds. The rounds option is listed at 2.5 and the under is plus money. Both of these fighters have shown the ability to finish and we know from what Glenn said that he will be looking for the highlight reel finish. I will take this fight to go under the rounds total at plus money.
