UFC Fight Night 108 Odds - Cindy Dandois vs. Alexis Davis

MMA-Undercard-Fight-04-19

Alexis Davis is a 2-1 favorite to defeat Cindy Dandois at UFC Fight Night 108 on Saturday in Nashville. Davis looked really good early in her UFC career with three straight wins but then she ran into Ronda Rousey and was destroyed in 16 seconds. Davis bounced back to beat Sarah Kaufman but then lost to Sara McMann. Davis will be taking on a fighter in Dandois who is making her UFC debut. Dandois is 8-2 in her career and has won her last three fights. This fight between Dandois and Davis is one of seven on the preliminary card leading up to a six-fight main event card that features Cub Swanson taking on Artem Lobov.

Cindy Dandois (8-2, UFC debut)

Dandois is making her UFC debut but she is not without experience, as she did well in Invicta FC with a win over Megan Anderson who is now the interim featherweight champion and she beat Jessamyn Duke at Invicta FC 18. Last time out it was Dandois winning against Anjela Pink in a Conquest of the Cage event.

Dandois made her pro debut in 2009 with a win over Marloes Coenen. She has faced a lot of high profile opponents including Yana Kunistskaya, Jorina Baars, and current Invicta Bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger. All of Dandois’ fights except her debut have been finishes.

Dandois is excited about making her UFC debut and proud to represent her home country of Belgium. “It’s one of my biggest dreams that came true. I am extremely proud to be able to represent my country, my gym, and me and my brother’s name.” Dandois said on UFC.com.

Alexis Davis (17-7, 4-2 UFC)

Davis came into the UFC and started off really well with wins against Rosi Sexton, Liz Carmouche and Jessica Eye. She did so well that she got a title shot against Rousey but that fight ended in just seconds with Rousey winning by knockout. Davis did come back to beat Sarah Kaufman at UFC 186 in April of 2015 but last year she was beaten by Sara McMann. The question that has to be answered about Davis is whether she can be the same fighter she was before she lost to Rousey in 2014.

Davis is all about getting her opponents on the mat and getting a submission, as eight of her wins have come by submission. All of the submission wins were by rear-naked choke or by armbar. Davis has good striking ability but more often than not she looks to win her fights on the mat.

UFC Picks

This fight is likely going to be decided on the mat, as both women are going to be looking to win by submission. Davis has a little more experience, but Dandois has already proven she can handle top tier opposition. Davis has the edge in striking but I think this fight is going to be decided by a submission. I am a bit surprised the line on this is about 2-1, as I think the fight could go either way. I think Dandois is worth a shot at nice plus money and the rounds are worth taking under.
