UFC Fight Night 109 Odds - Nico Musoke vs. Bojan Velickovic Preview and Prediction

2017-UFC-MMA-Undercard-Fight-Musoke-vs-Velickovic-Betting-Lines

Nico Musoke returns to action at UFC Fight Night 109 on Sunday in Sweden, as he takes on Bojan Velickovic. The last time we saw Musoke he lost to Albert Tumenov in January of 2015. Velickovic is coming off a loss to Sultan Aliev at UFC on FOX 22 in December. This welterweight battle between Musoke and Velickovic is one of four on the FS1 portion of the preliminary card, which leads up to a six-fight main card, featuring Alexander Gustafsson vs. Glover Teixeira.

Nico Musoke (13-4-1, 3-2 UFC)

Musoke is 13-4-1 in his career, including 3-2 in the UFC, but he has not been in action in more than two years. He does have wins in the UFC over Alexander Yakovlev, Viscardi Andrade and Alessio Sakara but he has two losses in his last three fights, as he was beaten by Kelvin Gastelum in June of 2014 and by Albert Tumenov in January of 2015. Five of the last six Musoke fights have gone to a decision.

Bojan Velickovic (14-4-1, 1-1-1 UFC)

Velickovic is 14-4-1 in his career, including 1-1-1 in the UFC. He debuted in the UFC last year with a win over Alessio di Chirico and then he fought to a draw with Michael Graves in July. He is coming off a loss to Sultan Aliev in December of last year. Velickovic said to Combat Press that he knew both Graves and Aliev really well before fighting them. “I knew them both very well,” Velickovic said. “During the fight with Michael, I found out his coaches were my coaches for four years. They told him some things that I was going to do, but he also did some things that shocked me. I thought I landed more strikes, but I didn’t have a good strategy.”

Velickovic said that he is ready for a much different fight than his last two bouts, as Musoke is more of a striker. “My last two fights were against wrestlers, so I want to let my striking come out as well,” he said. “They avoided the fight on their feet, but my next opponent is a good technical striker. I’m getting ready for 15 minutes of a real bloody war. He’s fighting in his hometown, so I have to be ready to push him and break him.”

Fight Notes

UFC Fight Night 109 should be renamed UFC Fight Night of Big Favorites, as there are some big prices on the board. Eight of the twelve fights have the favorite listed at odds of 2-1 or more and there are six fights where the favorite is listed with odds of more than 3-1. It could be a good card for taking underdogs, as you don’t need many of them to come through for a profitable day.

UFC Picks

Nico Musoke is listed as a -150 favorite in this fight and I think that is right where the number should be. The rounds on this fight should come out at 2.5 with the over at -240. I think there is a good chance this fight goes the distance, so I will take the rounds over.
