Lucie Pudilova is a slight favorite against Ji Yeon Kim at UFC Fight Night 111 on Saturday in Singapore. Pudilova is 6-2 in her career and coming off a loss to Lina Lansberg in her UFC debut, while Kim is 6-0-2 and making her UFC debut. This fight is one of eight on the preliminary card that can be seen on UFC Fight Pass. The main card, which features Holly Holm vs. Bethe Correia will also be shown on UFC Fight Pass. Let’s take a look at Kim vs. Pudilova and UFC predictions.

Ji Yeon Kim (6-0-2, UFC debut)

Kim will make her UFC debut in Singapore, as she takes on Pudilova. Kim is one of the top female prospects in South Korea and she comes into this fight unbeaten. She last fought in the Top Fighting Championship 13 in South Korea. She has won her last six fights after fighting to a draw against veterans Shizuka Sugiyama and Takayo Hashi. Four of the six wins for Kim have come by knockout or submission.

Kim said on BJPenn.com that the original plan was to fight Holly Holm but Holm turned the fight down. “I’m very excited about finally making my UFC debut,” Kim said. “It will be my first time on a stage this big, so my adrenaline is pumping. Every day is filled half with anticipation and half with nervous energy.”

“I do [think this is a blessing in disguise],” Kim said. “I think it would have been a bit overwhelming for me to be in the main event against Holly Holm in my UFC debut. So, it gives me a chance to ease my way in. I do think I’ll be able to fight Holly at some point, though.”

Kim will definitely have the crowd edge, as Singapore is close to her home in South Korea. “There probably are some advantages to being closer to home,” she said. “Less flight time and time difference will probably help me ease into my first UFC fight.”

Lucie Pudilova (6-2, 0-1 UFC)

Pudilova has been a pro since 2014 and has a record of 6-2 with two wins by knockout and two by submission. Her only UFC action came in March, as she was beaten by Lina Lansberg by unanimous decision. The only two losses for Pudilova have come against Lansberg, as she was beaten by her in 2005.

Kim has respect for Pudliova, “She’s a young and tough fighter. She’s also long and rangy and utilizes her jab well.” Kim said on BJPenn.com, “That said, I’ve been training hard and I think I can beat her anywhere the fight goes, whether it be on the ground or on the feet.”

Pudliova said on UFC.com that this fight won’t go to a decision. “I have respect for Kim, but this won’t go to a decision. She can’t handle my power. My coach and I will fly over half a planet and we do not go to lose or just win on points.”

Fight Notes

Keep in mind that this card starts very early on Saturday, with the prelims beginning at 4:30 a.m. ET, while the main card starts at 8 a.m. ET.

UFC Picks

The odds on this fight have Pudilova listed as a slight favorite. It should be one of the more competitive fights on the card, as most of the other bouts have big favorites. Pudilova hasn’t been that impressive and we really don’t know what to expect from Kim. I will take a shot with the plus money and go with Kim to get the win and I will also take the fight rounds to go under.
