Jon Tuck is more than a 2-1 favorite to defeat Takanori Gomi at UFC Fight Night 111 on Saturday in Singapore. Tuck is 9-4 in his career but he has lost three of his last four fights, while Gomi is 35-12-1 and on a three-fight losing streak. This fight is one of eight on the preliminary card that can be seen on UFC Fight Pass. The main card, which features Holly Holm vs. Bethe Correia will also be shown on UFC Fight Pass. Let’s take a look at Gomi vs. Tuck and UFC predictions.

Bet on UFC at BookMaker.eu

Takanori Gomi (35-12-1, 4-7 UFC)

Gomi is in serious danger of being cut by the UFC, as he is on a three-fight losing streak and the three losses have been ugly, as he has lost in the first round each time. He was beaten by Myles Jury in September of 2014, Joe Lauzon in July of 2015 and Jim Miller in July of last year. He could be facing another first round defeat against Tuck.

Gomi has 13 wins by knockout in his career and six by submission but he has also lost six times by submission.

Jon Tuck (9-4, 3-4 UFC)

Tuck has dropped three of his last four fights but each of his last two losses was by split decision. He lost to Josh Emmett in May of last year and to Damien Brown in November of last year. Many people who saw the fight against Brown thought that Tuck deserved the win. Tuck has won four fights by knockout and four by submission.

Tuck said to the Pacific Daily News that this fight against Gomi will be a tough test. "My upcoming fight against Takanori Gomi is a huge test for me going in there to try my skill against a legend of this sport," said Tuck, "It is a very important fight and I have been working hard to capitalize on this opportunity because this is a fight I have always dreamt of and also with this win it will definitely help push me up in the rankings."

Tuck believes that Gomi has a style that is a good matchup for him. "He has an aggressive fighting style that definitely matches up well with mine. I expect nothing but the best challenge from him come fight night," said Tuck.

Fight Notes

Tuck is listed as a -285 favorite to win this fight with the rounds at 1.5 under. Keep in mind that this card starts very early on Saturday Eastern Time, with the prelims beginning at 4:30 a.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass, while the main card starts at 8 a.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass.

UFC Picks

It is hard to make a case for Gomi winning this fight, as he simply doesn’t match up well with Tuck. Gomi isn’t likely to avoid a takedown and that means Tuck should win this fight on the mat. I will lay the price and take Tuck to get the win and I will also take the rounds to go under the total.
