2017-UFC-MMA-Undercard-Fight-preview-Betting-LInes

Artem Lobov and Andre Fili will finally face each other, as they are set to battle at UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdasnk, Poland on October 21. The two were going to fight at UFC 214 in late July but Lobov backed out to help teammate Conor McGregor train for his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Lobov is coming off a loss to Cub Swanson in late April, while Fili is coming off a loss to Calvin Kattar in late July. This fight is one of eight on the preliminary card, leading up to a four-fight main card which features Donald Cerrone vs. Darren Till.

Artem Lobov (13-13-1, 2-3 UFC)

Lobov did not start well in the UFC, as he lost to Ryan Hall in the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 22 and he then lost to Alex White a couple of months late. Lobov did come back to defeat Teruto Ishihara and Chris Avila but then he lost to Swanson.

Lobov has shown no ability to finish in the UFC, as all five of his fights have gone to a decision. He has four knockout wins in his career and two wins by submission but those wins came at lower MMA levels. He has lost 13 times in his career, but most of those losses went the distance. He has been knocked out just once in his career and submitted just twice.

Andre Fili (16-5, 4-4 UFC)

Fili has been up and down throughout his UFC career, winning one and then losing one. He won his UFC debut in 2013, as he defeated Jeremy Larsen. He then stepped up in competition and lost to Max Holloway in 2014. He came back to defeat Felipe Arantes later that year. Fili started 2015 with a loss, as he was beaten by Godofredo Pepey but he came back later in the year and knocked out Gabriel Benitez. He was knocked out by Yair Rodriguez in April of 2016 but came back to beat Hacran Dias later that year. The last fight for Fili was a unanimous decision loss to Calvin Kattar at UFC 214 in late July.

Fili has eight knockout wins in his career and three wins by submission. He has been knocked out twice and submitted twice, with only one of his losses going to a decision.

UFC Picks

I expect that Fili will be favored in this fight. He has fought far tougher competition in his career than has Lobov. Fili also looks to be the better fighter and has more ways to win. Fili has shown good power in his career and he also can handle himself on the mat.

Who has Lobov beaten of note? Who has he even faced that is any good? I think there is a major difference in competition level in who these two have fought and I also think Fili is the better all around fighter. It also doesn’t hurt that Fili is on one of those streaks where he wins one and then loses one. He lost his last fight, so this one should be a win. I will take Fili in this fight.
