UFC Fight Night 118 Odds - Donald Cerrone vs. Darren Till Betting Preview

UFC---Donald-Cerrone-vs.-Darren-Till

The UK’s Darren Till has passed every fighting test with flying colors en route to a flawless 15-0 record. But this Saturday, he’ll take on the biggest challenge of his career by far. The 24-year old Till meets UFC star and current welterweight contender Donald Cerrone in what could be a career-turning matchup for the young striker. It’s a matchup that could introduce a new contender to the weight class - while producing plenty of fireworks.

Let’s take a look at the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu, break down the matchup and pick out your best betting options.

Fight Preview

We know who Cerrone is: a quick, well-polished welterweight with dynamic weapons on the feet and the mat. At 34, “Cowboy” has reached his ceiling - and it’s a high one at that. At both lightweight and welterweight, the Jackson-Wink fighter is good enough to breach the top-5, but not quite championship material. Consecutive losses to Jorge Masvidal and Robbie Lawler have pretty much put an end to any title hopes at 170.

Still, there are plenty of roles for Cerrone to play even if title contender isn’t one of them. Against Till, he will assume the part of gatekeeper, hoping to hand a far less experienced fighter his first career loss. Considering that Cowboy only loses to contenders, Till will have to raise his game to a level he’s never reached before.

Does Till have another gear in him? The potential certainly seems to be there. Physically, he is long and athletic. A Thai-style kickboxer, he is also an accurate, powerful puncher who should be comfortable playing the long range game against an advanced striker like Cerrone. In the clinch, Till has shown a very nice double collar tie with powerful knees.

However, Cerrone’s underrated wrestling could be a difference-maker. An extremely well-rounded fighter, Cowboy’s underrated wrestling is often overshadowed by his much more flashy striking. He’s extremely opportunistic when it comes to landing takedowns, and his crafty grappling game has led to twice as many submissions as knockouts.

UFC Betting Tips

Though Till has an extremely bright future, going from Bojan Velickovic to Donald Cerrone is a massive leap. Cerrone has a huge edge in experience, and is in definite need of a win to avoid a third straight loss. Lay the price on Cowboy to win.

UFC Odds Pick: Cerrone to win at -150
