2017-MMA-Undercard-Fight-1-preview-Lansberg-vs-Ladd-Betting-Odds

Aspen Ladd will make her UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 118 on Saturday in Poland, as she takes on Lina Lansberg in one of the preliminary bouts on UFC Fight Pass. Ladd is unbeaten at 5-0, having fought for Invicta FC, while Lansberg comes into this bout with a record of 7-2. This fight is one of eight on the preliminary card, leading up to a four-fight main card which features Donald Cerrone vs. Darren Till.

Lina Lansberg (7-2, 1-1 UFC)

Lansberg is probably best known for fighting Cris Cyborg on short notice in September of last year. Lansberg was completely overmatched in that fight and did well just to make it out of the first round. She was knocked out in the second round of that bout. Lansberg did bounce back to defeat Lucie Pudilova at UFC London. Those are her only two fights in the UFC.

Lansberg is 35-years old but she has only fought nine times in a career that began in 2012. Lansberg has five knockouts in her career and only three of her fights have gone to a decision. Lansberg has the nickname of “Elbow Princess”, as she has strong Muay Thai skills.

Aspen Ladd (5-0, UFC debut)

Ladd was supposed to make her UFC debut in July against Jessica Eye but Ladd became sick and had to withdraw. Ladd made her MMA debut in 2015 and knocked out Ana Carolina Vidal. All of Ladd’s five fights came in Invicta FC and all but one of the bouts were finishes. She knocked out Vidal, submitted Amanda Cooper, knocked out Kelly McGill, knocked out Jessica Hoy and last time out Ladd won a unanimous decision against Sijara Eubanks.

Ladd has shown strong takedown skills in all of her five fights, so she should be looking to get this fight against Lansberg to the mat.

UFC Picks

Ladd is not your average fighter making a UFC debut, as she was very impressive in Invicta and has a lot of skill. She has strong skills on the mat and she has shown the ability to finish. She goes against a fighter in Lansberg who is definitely tough, but probably not as skilled. The danger for Ladd is getting overly aggressive and making a mistake early in this fight. Ladd is just 22 years old, while Lansberg is 35 years old. Lansberg has more experience, but all indications are that Ladd could be a future star in the UFC.

I almost always like to go with talent over experience when it comes to the UFC. If Ladd is able to show a little bit of patience she should be able to get Lansberg to the mat and get a ground and pound victory. I will lay the price and take Ladd to get this win.
