One of the most competitive fights at UFC Fight Night 121 should be the bout between Damien Brown and Frank Camacho. Brown is 17-10 in his career, while Camacho is 20-5. Both fighters are coming off losses, as Brown was beaten by Vinc Pinchel, while Camacho lost to Jingliang Li. The fight between Brown and Camacho is one of four on the FS1 portion of the preliminary card, leading up to a six-fight main card featuring Fabricio Werdum taking on Marcin Tybura. UFC Fight Night 121 takes place on Sunday in Australia, but because of the time difference it will be seen on Saturday night in North America.

Damien Brown (17-10, 2-2 UFC)
Brown made his UFC debut in March of 2016 and lost on short notice to Alan Patrick by unanimous decision. He did bounce back to knock out Cesar Arzamendia in July of last year and he was fortunate to win a split decision against Jon Tuck in November of last year. Brown was beaten last time out, as he was knocked out by Vinc Pinchel in the first round in June.
Brown has eight submission wins in his career and two knockout victories. He has eight first round finishes. He is from Australia so he will have the home crowd advantage in this fight.
Brown said to FanSided that he expects an exciting matchup against Camacho. “I just don’t have boring fights. Even if I tried to having a boring fight, I just don’t think it’s in my style. From what I’ve seen I think his strengths play into mine. As opposed to his strengths playing into my weaknesses. It’s probably going to be a super exciting matchup for the fans. He’s coming to come forward, I’m going to come forward. Something’s gotta give. It’s a classic matchup of two guys that can strike and have great ground games.”
Frank Camacho (20-5, 0-1 UFC)
Camacho will be making his second appearance in the UFC. He lost his debut against Li at UFC 111 in June but it was a good effort and an exciting bout that won Fight of the Night honors. Camacho is a high energy fighter that fans really like to watch. 18 of his 20 wins have come by stoppage.
Camacho said he is much better prepared for this fight against Brown than he was against Li. “This one, I was given eight weeks to train and work on things, prepare,” said Camacho to The Guam Daily Post.
Camacho said to the Pacific Daily News that preparation is the key to winning. "If there is anything different, it's the mindset approaching training, nutrition and rest, and with that, I feel better every day." Camacho said.
UFC Picks
There is no question that this fight will be exciting from the start and one that probably won’t go the distance. I give the edge to Camacho in this fight, as I think he has more power and will be better prepared. I also think the rounds are worth playing, as they should be set at 2.5 and it is hard to see this fight going the distance, so I will take the under.
