UFC Fight Night 125 Odds - Tim Means vs. Sergio Moraes

2018-Means-vs-Moraes-Betting-Odds

Two fighters looking to bounce back from losses meet on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 125, as Tim Means takes on Sergio Moraes. Means is 27-9-1 in his career, but he is coming off a loss to Belal Muhammad, while Moraes is 12-3-1, but coming off a loss to Kamaru Usman. This fight is one of four on the FS1 portion of the preliminary card, leading up to a six-fight main card, also on FS1, that features Lyoto Machida vs. Eryk Anders.

Tim Means (27-9-1, 9-6-1 UFC)

Means has split his last four fights, as he defeated Sabah Homasi in August of 2016, fought to no-contest against Alex Oliveira in December of 2016, lost to Alex Oliveira by submission in March of last year, beat Alex Garcia by unanimous decision in June of last year and lost a split decision to Muhammad in November. Means recently signed a new 5-fight deal with the UFC. “In this instance they asked me and then gave me the contract and asked me when I wanted to fight again. I said, I am ready now, so you guys just call me. Usually when he starts calling and asking those things within a week or something there will be a contract sitting on my table. So, they call I will be ready”, said Means to KRQE Sports.

Means is coming off a tough loss in November in a fight that could have gone either way. Means said he is continuing to improve. “I am getting better each and every time out, more comfortable, the feeling is there. So, I got a couple of things that I want to add in practice, offensive wrestling of course, but outside of that I feel I have a complete game. You know, guys aren’t just able to take me down and hold me now more. As long as I am coming to practice open minded and thinking that I need to learn or knowing that I can improve, I think the sky is the limit in competing and moving forward.”

Sergio Moraes (12-3-1, 6-2-1 UFC)

Moraes has gone 2-1-1 in his last four fights. He fought to a draw against Luan Chagas in May of 2016, won a split decision against Zak Ottow in November of 2016, won a unanimous decision against Davi Ramos in March of last year and lost to Usman in September of last year.

Moraes has just one knockout victory in his career, but he has seven submission wins.

UFC Picks

The size and reach advantage in this fight goes to Means. There is also no question that Means has the edge in striking. The edge for Moraes will be on the mat, so the question is whether Moraes can get Means to the ground. It doesn’t look promising for Moraes, as Means is taller and has more power. I think Means will end up getting this win, possibly by knockout.
