Two fighters that know each other really well meet at UFC Fight Night 127 on Saturday in London, as Jack Marshman takes on Brad Scott. These two have been in some of the same circuits and on some of the same fight cards in the past and they have also sparred previously. Marshman is 22-7 in his career, including 2-2 in the UFC, while Scott is 11-5 overall and 3-4 in the UFC. This fight is one of eight on the preliminary card on UFC Fight Pass, leading up to a four-fight main card featuring Fabricio Werdum vs. Alexander Volkov, also on UFC Fight Pass. Let’s look at Marshman vs. Scott and UFC picks.

Jack Marshman (22-7, 2-2 UFC)
Marshman is a former Cage Warriors middleweight champion. He will be competing at 170 pounds for the first time when he takes on Scott. Marshman was 2-2 in the UFC at middleweight, but he will be moving to welterweight. Marshman has alternated wins and losses in his last four fights, beating Magnus Cedenblad, losing to Thiago Santos, beating Ryan James and losing to Antonio Carlos Junior.
Only one of the last eight Marshman fights has gone the distance. 12 of his 29 fights have ended in the first round.
Brad Scott (11-5, 3-4 UFC)
Scott is also dropping down in weight for this fight. He went 3-3 as a middleweight in the UFC, losing to Robert Whittaker, Krzystof Jotko and Jack Hermansson. His wins were over Michael Kuiper, Dylan Andrews and Scott Askham.
Scott said to the Wiltshire Times that he knows what to expect from Marshman, as the two have sparred in the past. “We’re very similar – he was in the paramilitary and I always wanted to go into the military – so we’ve followed a similar path. All of that doesn’t have any bearing on the fight though, I’m going to go out there and give it all I’ve got and I know he will too. We’ll both be looking for the finish, we’re both exciting fighters and I want to get a Performance of the Night bonus.”
The first eight fights in Scott’s career didn’t go the distance, but he has gone to a decision in five of his last eight fights.
UFC Picks
There definitely won’t be any secrets when Marshman and Scott get together. They each know the other’s strengths and weaknesses. Scott seemed to indicate that he expected an exciting fight, but I am not so sure that will be the case. Both of these fighters know what to expect, as Marshman will be looking for the quick finish and taking chances. I don’t see either fighter landing a lot of big shots and I think this fight could turn into a battle on the mat. Scott used to be a fighter that finished fights, but that has not been happening as much lately. I think this fight will be very close and one that goes to a decision, so I will take the rounds to go over the total. If the rounds are not listed I would just take the fight to go to a decision.
