UFC odds - 2016 superfight wish list with projected odds

2016-UFC---Possible-Superfights---Nate-Diaz-Odds

Let’s hope that 2016 brings us a few superfights. Because nothing gets the blood of a fight fan pumping more than a bout that’s larger than life.

After a tumultuous 2015 where we saw the rise and fall of some of the UFC’s best fighters, it’s time refresh the superfight wish list - and make a few odds projections as well.

SUPERFIGHT 1: Stockton vs. Ireland

Projected Odds

Conor McGregor -200

Nate Diaz +250

There’s a number of superfights that Conor McGregor could take. The most obvious is a bout against current lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. But a fight with Nate Diaz would be the bigger fight. That’s because the fight would promote itself. It would pit the best trash talkers in the world against each other and almost every press conference would bring the threat of a brawl. Don’t tell me that doesn’t intrigue you.

SUPERFIGHT 2: The Cyborg Problem

Projected Odds

Holly Holm -110

Cris Justino +105

Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino has long been considered one of the best women’s fighters in the world - and certainly its most savage. For years, the biggest money fight in the UFC was Cyborg vs. Rousey, and it was considered MMA’s Mayweather-Pacquiao because of all the obstacles it faced. But now that Rousey’s been knocked off her perch, the new queenpin is Holly Holm. And there is still a ton of curiosity about how Cyborg would perform in the octagon.

SUPERFIGHT 3: No Bones About It

Projected Odds

Jon Jones -175

Junior dos Santos +150

Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has teased a move up to heavyweight for a while, and it’s safe to see that everyone would be fascinated to see the results. Why not pit him against a former champion like Junior dos Santos. The Brazilian would oblige him on the feet, and his takedown defense would provide a fine litmus test for whether Bones has the strength to grapple with the giants of the promotion.

SUPERFIGHT 4: Little Guys, Big Trouble

Demetrious Johnson +140

T.J. Dillasahw -130

Both the flyweight and bantamweight division has had problems drawing casual interest from fans who don’t seem vested in watching “little guys” bang. A champion vs. champion fight might help resolve that issue. Johnson is the consensus No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world right now, having cleaned out the 125-pound class with ease. Let him prove it by meeting bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw.
