UFC odds - A few great megafights fights with projected odds

UFC---Fights-we-want-in-2016---Georges-St.-Pierre.ac

It’s a slow week for MMA, without any major promotional event. So let’s have some fun with our free time, and create a few matchups that fans would be itching to see. Are these all superfights? No, they are not. But that doesn’t make them any less appealing. And remember, although there aren’t any cards this weekend, you can still head over to the sportsbook and bet on upcoming fights.

THE RETURN OF GEORGES ST. PIERRE

Projected Odds:

Georges St. Pierre -200

Robbie Lawler +170

With each passing day, there seems to be more fuel added to the raging bonfire of rumors regarding the return of Georges St. Pierre. And because we’re talking about the greatest welterweight of all time, everybody is paying close attention. He’d only come back for a megafight, and getting his belt back against Robbie Lawler qualifies. It also helps that Lawler is the most exciting welterweight champion in UFC history.

CLEANING OUT THE FEATHERWEIGHTS

Current Odds:

Conor McGregor -175

Frankie Edgar +145

Odds for this fight are currently available in the Future Events section of our UFC sportsbook. Frankie Edgar remains the last remaining question that superstar Conor McGregor has yet to answer. Many feel that the American’s movement and elite wrestling is the perfect answer to McGregor’s power and speed. Edgar is one of those MMA good guys that keeps getting slighted for his title hot, but it feels like this fight has to happen sooner or later, whether or not McGregor wins the lightweight crown.

RAFAEL’S REVENGE

Projected Odds:

Rafael dos Anjos +120

Khabib Nurmagomedov -110

Lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has morphed into a bona fide, all-world champion. But if Khabib Nurmagomedov had never been sidelined with a rash of injuries, things could have been very different. The first time they met, “The Eagle” suffocated the Brazilian with dominant wrestling. It remains the champion’s last loss, and it remains to be seen whether dos Anjos has improved enough to stop Nurmagomedov.

HIGH AND MIGHTY MOUSE

Projected Odds:

Demetrious Johnson +160

Dominick Cruz -175

Despite his ranking as the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Demetrious Johnson is still largely ignored by the UFC fanbase. There’s no better way for him to earn some R-E-S-P-E-C-T than to move up in weight and attempt to become part of the historic group of fighters who have held belts in two division. And with Dominick Cruz’ comeback story recently inspiring plenty of headlines, now is a great time for Johnson to chase history and win fans.

STRAIGHT OUTTA STOCKTON

Projected Odds:

Nick Diaz -120

Matt Brown -110

Nick Diaz wants big fights. Maybe Matt Brown doesn’t qualify in name, but in terms of style it probably doesn’t get any more fun. Diaz’ relentless brand of offense can be breathtaking - when opponents oblige him in a stand and trade war. Brown is a fighter that thrives in a brawl, setting a pace that can equal Diaz in terms of output. If there were an over/under on strikes landed in a fight, I’d set it right around 500 for a Diaz-Brown matchup.
