UFC Odds at BookMaker.eu

UFC 216, October 7

Kevin Lee +180 vs. Tony Ferguson -240

Buy: Kevin Lee as the ‘dog

At nearly 2-1 odds, I’ll take a shot on Lee, who’s been flying under the radar. While his striking isn’t on an elite level, his elite submission wrestling more than makes up for it. Anybody that can overpower and roll up Michael Chiesa in less than a round has to be respected. Ferguson is undeniably the more dynamic fighter, but Lee has got the style and ability to suffocate any offense.

UFC 217, November 4

Georges St. Pierre -140 vs. Michael Bisping +120
Jorge Masvidal +105 vs. Stephen Thompson -135
Cody Garbrandt -135 vs. T.J. Dillashaw +115

Buy: Michael Bisping, T.J. Dilllashaw as ‘dogs

You heard me. Bisping is a bad style matchup for GSP - the Brit is big enough to stuff the takedowns and comfortable on the feet to box with St. Pierre. I’m not sure how much longer you can get underdog odds on Bisping, so I’d act now before this turns into the pick’em that I’m expecting.

Cody Garbrandt might have schooled Dominick Cruz, but Dillashaw is not the same fighter despite the similar footwork. The Alpha Male nemesis is a better athlete and better offensive wrestler, and he’s not the one recovering from a back injury. I love “No Love”, but he’s in for a close fight in the very least.

Sell: Masvidal as a title contender

Jorge Masvidal is one of the better fighters at 170, but his winning streak prior to losing to Maia was partially due to favorable matchups. That’s not the case with “Wonderboy”, an explosive, rangy and creative kickboxer that will likely put “Gamebred” on his heels. The problem with Masvidal isn’t his striking skill - it’s top notch - but he’s had issues with establishing the kind of volume to score convincing victories.

UFC Fight Night 120, November 11

Anthony Pettis -125 vs. Dustin Poirier -105

Hold: Picking a winner

Both Pettis and Poirier are volatile fighters: at times they’ll look like title contenders and other times they’ll get blown out. Showtime has the higher ceiling, but The Diamond has been more consistent in recent years. Because this fight is so close, the best course of action here is to hold off on picking a winner until one of them gets favorable odds.

UFC Fight Night 121: Hunt vs. Tybura

Marcin Tybura +125 vs. Mark Hunt -155

Sell: Hunt as anything but a KO artist

That’s not to say he’s not a good fighter, as he’s one of the most dangerous big men on the planet. But we’ve seen time and time again that Hunt cannot handle athletic, three-dimensional heavyweights. Tybura isn’t quite Stipe Miocic, but he is generally well-rounded and moves well. That makes him a live ‘dog.

UFC Fight Night 122, November 25

Anderson Silva +180 vs. Kelvin Gastelum -240

Buy: Silva as a ‘dog

I get that Gastelum is a Brazilian legend killer, and Silva is a shell of the mauler he used to be. But Silva as a nearly 2-1 underdog is too good to pass up, especially against another striker. The legend will have advantages in height and range, and his precision counterstriking is tailor made for Gastelum’s aggressive boxing.
