Currently, one of the prop bets for the massive Mayweather vs. McGregor fight is whether the Irishman will fight MMA again in 2017. It’s a legitimate question that I’m sure the UFC and it’s fans would love to know. Because after putting on one of the biggest fights of the generation, how do you go back to the smaller octagon pond?

John Kavanaugh recently stated that he believes his fighter will fight MMA in December. And right now, there are Futures Bets you can already make for his possible opponents. Let’s break down the UFC odds briefly analyze each matchup.

The Trilogy

Nate Diaz +210
Conor McGregor -270

This would be the biggest money fight the UFC could make - a trilogy bout that’s tied 1-1, between the two best talkers in the sport. McGregor already stated that a rubber match would take place at 155, so his belt would be on the line as well.

It makes sense that McGregor is such a huge favorite. In the rematch, he finally capitalized on Nate’s glaring kryptonite: the inability to check low kicks. Mystic Mac fed the Stockton native a steady diet of crippling leg kicks, hampering the boxer’s movement for much of the fight.

I think we can say that the Diaz brothers aren’t going to change and they will always be susceptible to cut leg kicks. Until Nate proves otherwise, he’ll get chopped down by a kicker like Conor.

The Rematch

Conor McGregor -245
Jose Aldo +185

This isn’t happening. While Aldo’s resume makes him an intriguing opponent, the fact that he can’t promote himself and is no longer featherweight champion makes these odds moot. Bet if you want, but you’ll just be putting your funds on hold until the UFC odds drop this fight from the sportsbook.

Ireland vs. Russia

Conor McGregor -115
Khabib Nurmagomedov -115

This is the fight that hardcore fans want. If not for injuries, Khabib could have easily been champion right now. Instead, he’s 24-0 and sidelined again. But as one of the best wrestlers the sport has ever seen, his grinding fight style would be the ultimate test for a striker like McGregor.

While Nurmagomedov hasn’t really proven himself a pay-per-view draw, he is a huge star in his native Russia. This fight would have a ton of international appeal, as fans from both Ireland and Russia would come in droves to wherever this fight would happen.

The Third Belt

Conor McGregor +135
Tyron Woodley -165

Challenging Woodley for the 170-pound belt - and becoming the first-ever three-division weight champion - has a historic ring that should appeal to McGregor. But man, that would be a tough, tough task for Mystic Mac.

The size difference between the two is enormous. While they’re the same height, Woodley walks around at nearly 200 pounds, while McGregor is near 170. Woodley’s wrestling background and explosive striking would make him a nightmare for the smaller McGregor. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned during The Notorious’ meteoric rise, it’s to never doubt him.
