UFC odds - December Madness: Three straight nights of major fight cards

2015-UFC-Three-cards-in-three-days-Conor-McGregor-Lines

In my 15+ years as a fan of MMA, I’ve never seen a promotion put on three cards in three days. But that’s exactly what the UFC is giving us in December, starting next Thursday. And these aren’t just your run-of-the-mill events either - each has major title implications and some of the sport’s biggest stars. If you haven’t already, you can head over to the sportsbook now and start betting on next week’s madness.

Thursday, December 10 - UFC Fight Night 80

The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada

How to watch: UFC Fight Pass, 6:45 p.m. ET

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH

Joanna Jedrzejczyk might be the women’s strawweight champion, but Paige VanZant is the division’s biggest star. Many of her peers feel that her fame is based more on her looks than actual skill, but she can shut up the haters for good in her headlining bout with Rose Namajunas. The TUF 20 runner-up is considered one of the best prospects in the weight class and presents a real test for VanZant.

Also on the card is uber-prospect Sage Northcutt, who at 19 years old became the youngest fighter to ever win a UFC fight. His electric blend of athleticism, martial arts skill and youthful enthusiasm makes him one of the most intriguing prospects on the roster. He gets a chance to notch another highlight reel victory against an unheralded Cody Pfister.

Friday, December 11 - TUF 22 Finale

Las Vegas, Nevada

How to watch: FOX Sports 1, 9 p.m. ET

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH

Two top-3 featherweights in Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes are fighting on a free cable TV card. This is a fight that could easily be a co-main event on a pay-per-view event. Both Mendes and Edgar bring an embarrassment of riches to the table in terms of MMA skills. From world-class wrestling, superb foot movement and elite boxing, these are two of the best in a loaded weight class fighting for a shot at the title.

In the co-main event, lightweight contender Tony Ferguson could very well earn a title shot by extending his winning streak to seven against Edson Barboza. These are two hyper-athletic lightweights with some serious kill power in their strikes. It’s getting harder and harder to deny Ferguson as a legitimate threat to the belt.

UFC 194 odds at BookMaker.eu

Saturday, December 12 - UFC 194

MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada

How to watch: Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH

From top to bottom, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more compelling card. Obviously, Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor will be one of the best selling fights in UFC history. But before that, the four best middleweights in the world will square off. Chris Weidman will defend his title against Luke Rockhold, and that is the best matchup at 185 we’ve seen in years. Right before that, Ronaldo Souza and Yoel Romero - two fighters with great arguments of their own as title challengers - will face off in a title eliminator.

Also on the main card is a matchup between two of the best jiu-jitsu players in the UFC, Demian Maia and Gunnar Nelson. And opening up the festivities is blue chip prospect Max Holloway, who gets to warm up the crowd in an expected barnburner against Jeremy Stephens. The fact that star Urijah Faber is headlining the prelims speaks to just how good this card is.
