February 21, UFC Fight Night 83

Donald Cerrone -145

Tim Means +115

COWBOY MOVES UP

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will make his welterweight debut against action fighter Tim Means. He’ll follow in the footsteps of Benson Henderson and Jorge Masvidal as a lightweight contender testing the waters against bigger men. Cerrone has long been one of the most entertaining 155ers in the game, but he’s never struck me as a guy that was particularly big for the weight class.

Still, there’s a natural curiosity in seeing smaller men attempt to subdue bigger guys. And both Henderson and Masvidal have already had some success in doing so. Pairing a badass kickboxer like Cerrone against a gutsy slugger like Means is going to lead to fireworks.

February 27, UFC Fight Night 84

Anderson Silva -325

Michael Bisping +255

A FIGHT YEARS IN THE MAKING

It’s surprising that these long-time middleweights have never met in the octagon, given how long they’ve been at the top of the class. Bisping is one of the most well-recognized middleweights in the world, although it’s mainly because people love to hate him. And Silva is arguably the greatest fighter of all-time.

While Silva and Bisping are past their primes, that doesn’t mean this fight won’t be fun or meaningful. Both men prefer to operate on the feet, so we’ll get to see whether Silva still has laser-like precision when Bisping mounts his high-volume offense. And given that both are still ranked in the top-10, there are plenty of profitable matchups to be made for the winner.

March 5, UFC 196

Conor McGregor -126

Rafael dos Anjos +106

CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION

It’s unreal how much attention McGregor gets. Snippets of the first UFC 197 press conference were showcased on Sportscenter, and two morning sports talk radio shows were talking about it in one my drive to work. When fight week rolls around, McGregor-Dos Anjos is going to be the talk of the sports world.

And it should be. The Irish featherweight champion is going for a shot at history, and will be fighting in a higher weight class to boot. Half the people just want to see an arrogant fighter get his comeuppance, and the other half are hopping on the bandwagon.

March 5, UFC 196

Holly Holm -355

Miesha Tate +290

LET THE HOLM ERA BEGIN

After Holm shocked the world by dominating Ronda Rousey and claiming the belt, the world has been waiting for an encore. And Miesha Tate is the perfect opponent for it. She’s the No. 2 contender behind Rousey and is on a four-fight winning streak. Her fighting style doesn’t play perfectly into Holm’s strengths, as Rousey’s did. It’s a great test to see where Holly ranks in terms of the rest of the division.

March 20, UFC Fight Night

Hector Lombard TBA

Neil Magny TBA

WELTER SKELTER

The night is headlined by a heavyweight bout between Frank Mir and Mark Hunt, but the fight that has the most meaning respective to a division is Hector Lombard vs. Neil Magny. Lombard was on the cusp of title contention at 170 before he was popped for steroids. In his first fight back, he faces a fighter who has quickly risen the welterweight rankings. Given how explosive both fighters are, expect lightning to strike a few times during this matchup. Bookmaker offers the best fighting odds and predictions, open your account today!
