UFC odds - Fights we want to see at UFC 200, from Georges St. Pierre to Conor McGregor

UFC-200---Matches-to-make---Georges-St.-pierre.ac

UFC 200 is going to be one of the biggest cards in the promotion’s history. It’s going to have superstars, title fights and slugfests, and it’s an event that’s been talked about since late last year. So who the hell is fighting on the card? Nobody knows - nothing has been announced yet.

Let’s make a few guesses.

THE RETURN OF RUSH?

Robbie Lawler +175

Georges St. Pierre -195

It’s been over two years since the welterweight GOAT has fought in the octagon. Yet his shadow still looms large over the UFC. Remember, he never officially retired - he merely stated that he was “taking some time off.” At 34 years old, he’s not too old to be fully out of his athletic prime either.

In the post-GSP era, Robbie Lawler has stepped into the fill the void as the welterweight champion. He also happens to be St. Pierre’s polar opposite in terms of fighting style. “Rush” was widely criticized for racking up uneventful unanimous decision victories. Lawler is one of the most exciting fighters in sport today. Could he turn a fight with one of the greatest former champions in history into a brawl?

BONES VS. RUMBLE

Jon Jones -350

Anthony Johnson +400

This is assuming that Jones beats Daniel Cormier to recapture the title of course. Prior to his suspension, Jones had pretty much cleared out everyone in the light heavyweight division - except Anthony Johnson. “Rumble” is arguably the hardest hitter in the UFC, and you can include the heavyweights in that discussion.

Jones has been tagged before, but he’s never faced anyone a one-hitter quitter like Rumble. That’s a bad, bad man and watching him stalk the best pound-for-pound on the planet would be a ton of fun.

THE IRISH NEVER QUIT

Conor McGregor -200

Jose Aldo +160

You can bet on this fight in our Future Events section now. With all due respect to Frankie Edgar, a McGregor-Aldo rematch is the big money fight for the Irish superstar. It would bring the passionate Brazilian fanbase into the mix, making the landmark card an international affair.

What’s more, many fans feel like the first fight wasn’t even really a fight - it was a 13-second flash knockout. You think Aldo is itching from another shot at McGregor after being humiliated? We’d also get our first look at McGregor after his first loss inside the octagon. It’s always interesting to see how fighters respond after being humbled so publicly.

WELCOME, CYBORG

Cristiane Justino +110

Holly Holm +110

If Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey are tentatively scheduled for a rematch in late fall, that Holm needs a dance partner in the meantime. And you know what’s a fun fight? Any that Cris “Cyborg” Justino. The Brazilian has long been one of the best women fighters in the world, and it’s frankly terrifying how savagely she beats opponents into submission.

As an Invicta champion, she’s technically under Zuffa, so she could fight in the UFC. Why not pit her against a former champion in Holly Holm? This could be a special catchweight bout, and it’d be a treat for MMA fans to finally see Cyborg tested against high-level competition.
