Dwyer started his MMA career 7-1, with all of those fights coming in the regional Battlefield Fight League. The 6’4” welterweight earned the BFL championship belt and a callup to the UFC, but was knocked out in spectacular fashion by Albert Tumenov in his UFC debut. However, he bounced back with a sensational first-round KO of his own over William Mecario in Brazil.
Jouban was expected to fight in his home state of Louisiana this past June, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. “Brahma” has notched two UFC victories, with knockouts over Seth Baczynski and Richard Walsh sandwiched around a decision loss to Warlley Alves. Prior to the UFC, Jouban fought in RFA, which essentially serves as a feeder league to the UFC.
This is a fantastic litmus test on Dwyer’s potential, as Jouban is exactly the type of solid vet that prized prospects should beat. It’s hard not to like his physical traits – you can’t teach height – and the fact that all of his wins have come by knockout must have the UFC drooling.
FIGHT PREDICTION
