Silva is an athletic marvel whose only UFC losses have come against Carlo Prater, Jon Fitch, Dong Hyun Kim and Matt Brown. With the exception of Prater, those were all top-10 fighters at the time Silva fought them. In his most recent outing, he easily submitted Josh Koscheck with a first-round guillotine choke, bringing his streak of finishes to six straight.
If you bet on Story vs. Silva with our online UFC odds, I’d stick with Silva. While Story is a good all-around fighter, he doesn’t show the flashes of elite potential that Silva does. The Brazilian’s standup appears to have turned a corner, catching up to his formidable submission game. He’s got the hand speed and power to bang, but the athleticism and savvy to submit. This is Silva’s fight to lose, as his toolbox is easily more robust than that of Story’s.
