While he’ll never reach the heights that Bigfoot has, he’s settled into his role as a heavyweight KO artist, notching a 4-1 UFC record against mid-card fighters.
Silva is definitely a jump in competition for Palelei, in both name recognition and skill level. For the most part, the UFC has thrown the Australian into the cage against other mid-level strikers to produce crowd-pleasing slugfests. Now, the promotion is throwing him a bone against a ranked heavyweight.
FIGHT ANALYSIS AND PICK
Silva has got to be anxious, fighting on home soil in a matchup that could decide whether he still belongs in the upper tier of heavyweights. But his increasingly vulnerable chin is worrisome. If he fights smart, he possesses all the tools to beat Palalei, but he has to avoid a slugfest at all costs. If Palalei is a huge underdog, I think a small bet on him makes sense, as Silva has proven extremely hittable and easily drawn into brawls.
