UFC betting online: Former pro boxing champion Holly Holm (8-0, 6 KOs) will look to climb the bantamweight rankings when she faces 38-year old Marion Reneau (6-1, 3 KOs, 2 SUBs) at UFC Fight Night 71.
Holm’s meteoric rise outside the UFC led many to believe that she could one day credibly challenge Ronda Rousey, and a win over Reneau could put her just a few fights away from a title challenge.

THE HOLM HYPE TRAIN
Holm transitioned to MMA in 2011 after posting a 33-2-3 record as a pro boxer. However, her hype was derailed a bit after barely beating veteran Raquel Pennington in her UFC debut. Prior to the UFC, Holm fought in Bellator, Legacy and something called Fresquez Productions, but she has yet to face elite caliber opponents.
Reneau is riding a five-fight winning streak going into the bout, and has a 2-0 UFC record despite being rejected from The Ultimate Fighter by Dana White, who told her she was too old to compete. She owns UFC victories over Alexis Dufresnes and Jessica Andrade – the latter upset earning hear Performance of the Night Honors.
The UFC would like nothing more than for Holm to dominate this bout and emerge as a credible, marketable contender for Ronda Rousey. However, if her last fight was any indication, she has a long way to go before anyone believes she’d stand a chance against the women’s champ. Rousey is so far ahead of the division that it’s hard to see anyone catching her in the near future.
FIGHT PREDICTION
