UFC odds online: In a possible “loser leaves town” matchup, Jessamyn Duke (3-2-1, 1 KO, 1 SUB) and Elizabeth Phillips (4-3, 2 KOs, 1 SUB) will square off at UFC on FOX 16.

Neither woman has failed build any sort of momentum in the deepest women’s division, and the consequences are ominously looming ahead of this fight. More telling, the two will meet on UFC Fight Pass portion of the card – which is like no man’s land for fighters.

CURRENT ODDS

Expect Duke to be the favorite in our latest UFC odds, starting around minus-200. Of course, I’m not an oddsmaker, and their paltry records leaves this fight wide open. Check back a few days before for fight night for the over/under, but I’d expect it to be set at 2.5 rounds, with the over being the much more expensive play.

SOMEBODY’S GOTTA GO

Duke won her UFC debut over Peggy Morgan at the TUF 18 finale, but dropped her next two fights, losing a decision to now title contender Bethe Corriea and most recently suffering a TKO loss to Leslie Smith at UFC Fight Night 45. As a training partner to women’s kingpin Ronda Rousey, Duke is falling considerably short of the high expectations set on her.

Phillips is looking to avoid a third straight loss as well. After winning four in a row in COTC to earn her UFC callup, she has yet to win in the octagon. Both of her losses, to Valerie Letourneau and Milana Dudieva, have come by way of split decision. At 28 years old, Phillips is a good athlete whose skills haven’t caught up to her physical tools.

These two met once in 2012 as amateurs, with Duke taking the win via a second-round guillotine choke. Now, three years later, Phillips has a chance to exact revenge as a pro. More importantly, a win would secure either women’s spot in the UFC.

FIGHT PICKER

Duke is the pick to win. She receives top-notch training as a member of Ronda Rousey’s fight team in Glendale, CA, and has all the physical advantages on top of that. At 5’11”, Duke is five inches taller than the 5’6” Phillips, and she is decent at utilizing her range. Phillips is more comfortable on the feet, but could find herself in trouble if she tries to stay in the pocket.

If Duke stays active and avoids a brawl with Phillips, she has a clear path to victory. I see her taking this fight with a unanimous decision.
