2015-Chris-Camozzi-vs-Tom-Watson-Betting-Lines

UFC betting online: Chris Camozzi – 21-10, 6 KOs, 7 SUBs – is on his third UFC stint, and he’s looking to stick around permanently. Twice cut from the UFC, the middleweight will face Tom Watson – 17-8, 8 KOs, 1 SUB – in a possible “loser leaves town” matchup at UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville. The two are slated to meet on the FOX Sports 1 main card, headlined by light heavyweight contenders Ovince St. Preux and Glover Teixeira.

CURRENT ODDS

Check our UFC odds for the latest Camozzi-Watson money lines. I’d expect Camozzi to be a slight favorite starting around minus-105. The over/under is likely to be set at 2.5 rounds in this three-rounder, with the over being a heavy favorite in minus-190 territory. WIN OR GO HOME

Camozzi was cut from the UFC following a four-fight win streak from 2013-2014, but earned his way back into the promotion by taking a short notice fight against contender Ronaldo Souza and UFC on FOX 15. The matchup played exactly as expected, with Souza taking a first-round submission. But Camozzi’s willingness to take an extremely tough fight has been rewarded by Dana White

Tom “Kong” Watson is 2-4 in the UFC, with his only wins coming against Stanislav Nedkov and Sam Alvey. The 33-year old British native has been disappointing in the octagon, failing to beat mid-level guys like Nick Catone and Rafael Natal. Although he trains with Jackson-Wink, Watson can’t seem to take advantage of his time with an elite team.

While Camozzi is still in the promotion’s good graces, neither he nor Watson have a very long leash in the UFC right now. It’s a bit surprising that this is a main card fight, since it’s one that has little ramifications in the overall division. There’s little chance that the winner would see a match against a top-15 guy in the near future, so the most we can hope for is an entertaining bout.

FIGHT ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

Watson’s only path to victory is with his fists, where his above-average power can take over. Camozzi is a bit more well-rounded and will want to get this fight to the mat to nullify Watson’s advantages. However, the Colorado native isn’t a very dominant wrestler and has problems when he overcommits to the takedown. If you can get a plus money line on Kong, there’s a great chance that he defends well enough to score a few big shots and win this fight on points.
