UFC Odds Online: Now, it’s personal for Ronda Rousey and that is not a good thing for Bethe Correia

UFC betting online: According to oddsmakers, Ronda Rousey - 11-0, 2 KOs, 9 SUBs - is set for another squash match in her title defense against Brazilian challenger Bethe Correia - 9-0, 2 KOs - at UFC 190 in Brazil.

This comes as no surprise – Rousey has lapped the field and then some when it comes to the UFC bantamweight division. There simply is nobody as dominant in their respective division as “Rowdy” is at 135, and it isn’t particularly close.

CURRENT ODDS

Our UFC 190 odds currently show Rousey as a massive favorite, with a minus-1418 money line. Correia is more than a 8-to-1 underdog at plus+848. With the exception of her fight against Miesha Tate at UFC 168, all of Rousey’s bouts have been finished in the first round, so expect an over/under at 1.5 rounds with a the under being heavy favorite.

NOW IT’S PERSONAL

Correia first caught the attention of Rousey by beating her training partner, Jessamyn Duke, at UFC 172. In a genius bit of self-marketing, the Brazilian held up four fingers and pulled one of them down after the bout, suggesting that she would take down Rousey and her three training partners – who the champ had dubbed “The Four Horsewomen.”

This public ploy gave the UFC the storyline it needed in finding Rousey’s next opponent, and Correia’s win over another Horsewoman in Shayna Baszler at UFC 177 sealed her title shot.

However, it was Correia’s inflammatory remarks during the UFC 190 buildup that set the champion off in a way that has a casual fan fearing the challenger’s safety. Correia remarked that she hoped that “Ronda doesn’t kill herself after she loses the belt.” Allegedly unbeknownst to the Brazilian, Rousey’s father committed suicide when she was a teenager. Correia later apologized, claiming she wasn’t aware of this, but Rousey took the comment to heart anyway.

Correia has tugged on the tail of a tiger, and Rousey is promising vengeance in the form of brutal violence. The superstar recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel live and promised that “she’s walking out looking different than she did walking in.” You might want to say a prayer for Correia at this point.

FIGHT PREDICTION + PICKS

While Correia is undefeated, nothing in her previous fights suggests she can match Rousey’s strength, athleticism and savagery. The challenger is a good striker, but doesn’t have the requisite power to test the Rowdy’s standup, which is rapidly progressing to elite levels. More importantly, she doesn’t have the grappling chops to hang with Rousey’s Olympic-level judo skills and powerful submission game.

When it comes to betting Rousey-Correia, the champion is a lock to win. You’ll probably want to parlay Rousey to win at minus-1418 with the under on 1.5 rounds to maximize your earning potential, as both bets are going to be expensive.
