UFC odds online: Roman Salazar – 9-3, 3 KOs, 3 SUBs – and Marlon Vera – 6-2, 1 KO 4 SUBs – will look to secure their first UFC victory when they meet in the octagon at UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville. The bout will take place on UFC Fight Pass portion of the card, with live streaming set to begin at 7 p.m. ET. Both men should be absolutely desperate to secure their first win and earn a little job security.

Fight Pass cards are usually among the last odds to hit the sportsbook, so make sure to sign in a few days before fight night. I’d expect the over/under in this three-rounder to be 2.5 rounds, and again, this line should be released just before the matchup takes place on August 8.
A LONG ROAD AHEAD
Salazar was most recently in action this past February at UFC 184, when his bout with Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto was ruled a no-contest due to a series of eye pokes from both fighters. Prior to that, the Arizona native was called up to the UFC to face Mitch Gagnon as a short-notice injury replacement, but was submitted in the first round. Before the UFC, Salazar fought in the World Fighting Federation as well as smaller regional promotion.
Vera participated in TUF: Latin America and won his first fight with a TKO over Enrique Briones. An infection kept him out of the semis against Alejandro Perez, who ended up winning the 135-pound bracket on the show. The 22-year old Ecuadorian made his official octagon debut at UFC 180, but fell to Marco Beltran in a unanimous decision.
Neither man figures to make an impact in the division in the near future, but everyone’s got to start somewhere. Vera is just 22 years old, while Salazar is 27, so there’s definitely room to grow – but both men should be desperate for a win and some job security. Going 0-2 as an unknown fighter in the UFC is not an envious position.
FIGHT ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION
There’s not really much to go on, but the fact that Salazar was pitted against a known commodity like Kid Yamamoto is something. As for Vera, competing on TUF: Latin America isn’t much of an endorsement, and you have to wonder if top-notch training is available in his native Ecuador. The pick here is Salazar to win a decision.
