UFC betting online: In a middleweight matchup between two TUF champions, Eddie Gordon (7-3, 3 KOs, 1 SUB) and Antonio Carlos Jr. (4-1, 3 SUBs) will square off at UFC Fight Night 70 at the end of this month.
Neither man has been able to truly translate the success of their shows to the octagon yet, but matching them up against each other is a solid move by the UFC. With less than 15 pro fights between the two, it’s time to see if either is worth keeping around.
Check Bookmaker’s online UFC odds for the latest Gordon-Carlos Jr. money lines. In this three-round bout, the over/under is likely to bet 2.5 rounds, with the over being the much more expensive bet. Full fight odds are typically posted at the beginning of fight week, depending on the magnitude of the event. I’d expect the younger Carlos Jr. to be the favorite going into the tilt.
Gordon has fared poorly since winning TUF with a first-round knockout of Dhiego Lima in July 24. The former Ring of Combat champion has since suffered a head-kick knockout loss to Josh Samman and a split-decision defeat to Chris Dempsey. On the bright side, most major media outlets had scored that fight for Gordon. Another thing to like about Gordon is that he trains with Team Serra-Longo, an elite camp that boasts middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
At 25 years old, Carlos Jr. won TUF: Brazil 3 as a heavyweight with a grueling decision over Vitor Miranda. However, he could not keep his undefeated record intact in a drop to light heavyweight as the BJJ black belt came out on the wrong end of a decision against Patrick Cummins. Now, he’ll make yet another drop in weight to fight Gordon.
If you bet on Carlos Jr. vs. Gordon with our online UFC odds, flip a coin. In other words, it’s probably better to stay away from this one. If I were forced to pick, I’d go with Gordon simply because of the fact that he trains at Serra Longo, but the reality is that it’s so early in both their careers that it’s impossible to really tell how good they can be. The safest bet here is probably the over, because this could easily become a drawn-out ground fight.
