UFC odds - Other big fights for Nate Diaz besides Conor McGregor

UFC---Nate-Diaz-fun-fights.ac

Nate Diaz, he’s so hot right now. After shoving a heaping slice of humble pie down Conor McGregor’s throat, he’s never been in a better position to get what he wants. While he’s in talks to rematch Conor McGregor at UFC 200, there are a few other big, fun fights for the Stockton native that fans would love to see.

IT’S SHOWTIME

Nate Diaz -120

Anthony Pettis +110

Pettis is a former champion and marketable personality who appeared on the cover of a Wheaties box. He also happens to be one of the few elite lightweights that Diaz hasn’t fought yet. A Pettis vs. Diaz storyline would be an easy sell, especially when it comes to a clash of fighting styles.

“Showtime” Pettis is known for his flashy offense, athleticism and creativity. In stark contrast, there is nothing flashy about Diaz’s gritty, technical boxing style. Would Pettis’ explosiveness win the day, or would he succumb to Diaz’s cardio and durability? I’d pay good money to find out.

GROUNDING WONDERBOY

Nate Diaz +170

Stephen Thompson -200

You know who else is hot right now? Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, who’s fresh off a scintillating first-round KO of former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks. He might not be an established name yet, but Thompson earned a ton of hype and admiration from media and fight fans alike from the performance.

The last thing we want to see is Diaz getting laid on by a wrestler for three rounds. That’s why a fight with Wonderboy makes sense. Like Pettis, Thompson is a flashy striker that wants no part of mat. Who doesn’t want to see the springy karateka fight a boxer who can take a beating and keep coming forward?

LET’S GET AHEAD OF OURSELVES

Nate Diaz +200

Robbie Lawler -250

In no way does Diaz deserve a welterweight title shot, but damn would it be fun to watch. Like Diaz, Lawler is a guy that takes ungodly amounts of punishment and just seem to get angrier with every punch. I can’t remember the last time a Lawler fight didn’t end with “Ruthless” bleeding his own blood all over the octagon.

Can you imagine these two standing toe-to-toe for five rounds? Pray to the MMA gods that one day this happens, because I guarantee you the result would be a Fight of the Year contender.
