UFC Odds - Stock Report: These Fighters, They’re So Hot Right Now

UFC---Who-s-Hot--Who-s-Not_preview-bm

MMA is a sport that moves fast. One week, a fighter scores a blistering KO and seizes the spotlight. The next week, another person will totally steal their thunder with an eye-opening win. It’s tough to keep track sometimes, but today we’re looking at recent performances on the past few cards that left us eager for encores.

We’ll post UFC odds at BookMaker.eu whenever these fighters get booked. For now, let’s jump on a few bandwagons, shall we?

Jessica Andrade Is Scary AF

At UFC Fight Night 117, “Bate Estaca” did the unthinkable: she ragdolled Claudia Gadelha. Nobody, not even champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, has ever treated Claudinha like a training dummy before. Oddsmakers certainly didn’t think Andrade had that in her, as she was more than a 2-1 underdog. She was so dominant that she locked up the No. 1 contender rank and another likely shot at the winner of Jedrzejczyk-Namajunas.

Gokhan Saki, Welcome to the Show

We knew that Saki was a kickboxing champion, but Japan was the first time we’d actually seen him in the octagon. First impression? We were expecting fast hands, but jesus christ - he kicks and punches like The Flash. Of course, he did get clocked a few times and started to gas, but that’ll likely improve. The UFC just needs to keep him in “fun fights” and plenty of people will tune in.

Luke Rockhold is Back, and He’s Pissed

After a first round scare against David Branch at UFC Fight Night 116, Rockhold settled into a groove and throttled Branch with ease in the next frame. It was an excellent reminder that he’s still one of the three best middleweights in the world. He then got on the mic and proceeded to trash GSP for jumping the line at 185 pounds. While it won’t land him the shot that he probably deserves, we know that he’s not gonna sit around quietly and wait for a messed up division to sort itself out.

They’re Ready: Gregor Gillespie, Mike Perry and Kamaru Usman

Also on UFC Fight Night 116 was a trio of young studs. Mike Perry shone the brightest against the least heralded competition. Sure, he’s kind of a meathead and sports a fauxhawk like it’s 2008, but it’s not a bad thing to look and act like a douchebag - more people will watch in hopes he loses. Usman and Gillespie are athletic freaks - Usman can end anyone’s night with a punch and Gillespie is a just a whirlwind of wrestling.

Rafael dos Anjos is a Legit at 170

The former lightweight champion had our curiosity when he whipped Tarec Saffiedine. After punking No. 6 Neil Magny at UFC 215, he’s got our attention. RDA looks like a completely new fighter at this weight class, fast, powerful and far more energetic. A few more performances like that and he could be challenging for the belt.

Santiago Ponzinibbio is More Than Just a Long Name

The 31-year old Argentine went into a main event matchup with Gunnar Nelson at UFC Fight Night 113 on a low-key four-fight win streak. But after starching Nelson in one round, it’s clear that the Ponzinibbio is a headhunter that needs to be taken seriously. A matchup with Mike Perry would be a lot of fun.
