For UFC fans, March 5 can’t come fast enough. Because that’s when Conor McGregor will attempt to make history in a champion vs. champion bout, and Holly Holm will set out to prove she isn’t a one-hit wonder. It’s been a card we’ve been following closely for months, and let’s take a look at where the fights and odds stand today.

Main event, lightweights

Conor McGregor -145

Rafael dos Anjos +125

Over/under 2.5 rounds, over +105, under -125

A few notable things to consider here. The first is that McGregor’s line keeps moving further into chalk territory. Just a week ago, the Irishman’s line was right around -120, and now he’s at -145. Dos Anjos has shifted from from around +105 to +125. And don’t forget that when the money lines first opened, dos Anjos was a favorite. There is a lot of action coming in on McGregor, and that trend will likely continue.

Also, the over/under used to be a pick’em at -110. Now, the over is a slight underdog at +105, while the under is at -125. It seems like bettors are flocking towards the under, which is not surprising considering how hard these two guys hit.

Co-main event, women’s bantamweights

Holly Holm -360

Miesha Tate +295

Over/under 2.5 rounds, over -205, under +175

The line movement suggests that the action has been on Tate. “Cupcake’s” money line shifts slightly from +300 to +295, while Holm’s previous money line moves 40 points from -400 to -360. The over has also gotten more expensive, going from -180 to -205. Still, Holm is a significant favorite to retain her title against a tough opponent.

RECENTLY ADDED FIGHTS TO NOTE

Light heavyweights: Corey Anderson vs. Tom Lawlor

Welterweights: Erick Silva vs. Nordine Taleb

Bantamweights: Amanda Nunes vs. Valentina Shevchenko

Corey “Beastin’ 25/8” Anderson might have horrible nickname, but he’s climbed to No. 12 in the UFC rankings. The 26-year old is a shot of young talent in an aging light heavyweight division, and a win over the respected Lawlor could earn him a fight against a top-10 opponent.

Erick Silva is one of those fighters whose physical talents jump off the page, but he’s never been able to consistently string together meaningful wins. Still, if he ever figures it out, he could become a contender in short order. His opponent, Nordine Taleb is a solid fighter who could raise his stock considerably with a victory over Silva - but I wouldn’t count on it.

It’s been too long since we’ve seen Amanda Nunes in the octagon. She brilliantly demolished former title challenger Sara McMann with blinding hand speed and power uncharacteristic of her division. If she repeats her performance against Valentina Shevchenko, Nunes could find herself in a title fight, or at least an eliminator.
