Brash welterweight knockout artist Mike Perry (11-2, 11 KOs) will meet Max Griffin (13-4, 7 KOs, 2 SUBs) at UFC on FOX 28 on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The card airs live on FOX starting 8 p.m. ET. Bet on the latest UFC odds at BookMaker.eu, and get the latest betting previews, predictions and picks now.
Mike Perry’s road back to contendership starts this Saturday. The tough-guy knockout artist will attempt to rebound from a dispiriting loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio in a matchup against fellow slugger Max “Pain” Griffin. Despite Perry being a walking MMA stereotype, it’s hard not to tune in with a bone-cruncher that has a 100% KO ratio.
If Perry had beaten Ponzinibbio, he likely would’ve locked up a high-profile matchup with Darren Till - the division’s hot fighter of the moment. Instead, he’ll have to climb his way back up the ladder against an unknown opponent.
Let’s take a look at the UFC odds at BookMaker.eu and go over your best bets. The matchup is set for the UFC on FOX 28 main card this Saturday in Orlando, Florida.

The Stakes
Mike Perry was on the verge. It might be easy to make fun of the guy, but let’s be honest here: we love tough guys and hard hitters, and “Platinum” fits the bill. With a knack for starting beef, the matchup with Till would have been an easy sell. Now, Perry’s got to prove himself all over again. A loss to Griffin would be disastrous, as Perry’s still got some shine on him as a premier banger.
And Griffin? The man could instantly make a name for himself if he knocks out the knockout artist. That’s some serious street cred, but he’s got to have some serious huevos to try and go toe-to-toe with such a prolific puncher. But hey, that’s the best way to gain a rep.
Matchup Preview
This is a pretty fun bit of matchmaking by Sean Shelby. You might not know much about Max Griffin, but he’s a power puncher who likes to throw down. Sounds a lot like Perry, right? That’s exactly the type of scrap that Perry loves, as biting down and slinging haymakers is what Platinum does best.
Griffin has power in both hands, and enough skill to be considered more than just a headhunter. He jabs in punches, and fast hooks that stun opponents in their tracks. And like Perry, when he smells blood he switches on the killer instinct.
Perry is still evolving as a fighter, as his loss to Ponzinibbio proved. He’s learned how to brawl efficiently, and can finish with either hand. His clinch work has taken the biggest step forward, and his stout frame and natural strength make him a very good dirty boxer.
Of course, we’ve got to talk about Perry’s power. 11 career wins, 11 knockouts. And with around 2.5 knockdowns per 15 minutes, Perry owns one of the highest rates in UFC history. Landing 4.42 strikes a minute to Griffin’s 2.8, Perry is a very good bet to land more significant strikes - always a good predictor of a victory.
UFC Betting Tips
There are power punchers, and there are lights-out hitters. Perry falls into the latter category, with luminaries such Francis Ngannou, Anthony Johnson and Conor McGregor. He touches you and you go down. Griffin is a thumper for sure, but he’s outgunned here.
Perry’s price is a parlay booster, and if you’re looking for a straight play go with Platinum by TKO/KO. Griffin’s willingness to trade will give Perry the opening he needs to keep his perfect KO ratio intact.
UFC Odds Pick: Perry by TKO/KO
