UFC 205 Main Card (Pay-per-View)
Conor McGregor -152 vs. Eddie Alvarez (rounds 1.5 over -170)
The marquee matchup on Saturday night has McGregor favored against Alvarez. Bettors have been backing McGregor in this fight as McGregor opened up as a -125 favorite and he is now up to -152.
McGregor has won six of his nine UFC fights by KO/TKO and if you go back to his fights outside of the UFC, he had 13 wins by KO/TKO, one by submission with only two going to decision.
McGregor has been favored in all but one of his fights as he was listed near even money in his fight against Jose Aldo at UFC 194. McGregor has normally been listed as a big favorite with the odds going up to -950 in his fight against Dennis Siver in 2015. McGregor was listed at -400 for the first fight against Nate Diaz which he lost and he was -155 for the rematch that he won.
Bettors definitely believe McGregor is the right side in this fight against Alvarez and it would not be surprising if the line drifted higher before Saturday.
Stephen Thompson -200 vs. Tyron Woodley (rounds 2.5 over -135)
Bettors have been pounding Thompson since this line opened with Thompson a -150 favorite. Woodley is actually the current welterweight champion but bettors don’t care as they are backing Thompson who has lost just once in his career.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk -380 vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz (rounds 4.5 over -185)
Bettors have been going only one way in this fight and that is with the favorite as Jedrzejczyk opened at -330 and she is now nearly a -400 favorite.
Both fighters are unbeaten in their careers but bettors are not giving Kowalkiewicz much of a chance.
Chris Weidman -156 vs. Yoel Romero (rounds 1.5 over -210)
One of the few underdogs that bettors do like at UFC 205 is Romero as Weidman opened up as a -170 favorite and that number is down to -156. Weidman is coming off a loss at UFC 194 last December and bettors are not convinced he bounces back in this fight.
Donald Cerrone -170 vs. Kelvin Gastelum
There has been very little movement on this fight with Cerrone listed at -170. Cerrone could get some late money heading into Saturday simply because he is considered a marquee name.
Miesha Tate -180 vs. Raquel Pennington
Tate has the bigger name but bettors really are not enthused about laying nearly 2-1 on her in this fight. The line has moved a little bit toward Pennington but this is not one of the fights bettors are excited about.
UFC 205 Preliminary Card (FS1)
Frankie Edgar -305 vs. Jeremy Stephens
There has been a little bit of money coming in on Stephens as Edgar was as high as a -315 favorite.
Khabib Nurmagomedov -273 vs. Michael Johnson
This line has seen a lot of movement but it has not been consistent on either fighter. Nurmagomedov opened up as a bigger favorite at about 3-1 and the early money came in on Johnson. The line has started to drift back up with Nurmagomedov at -273.
Tim Kennedy -220 vs. Rashad Evans
There has been very little line movement on this fight with Kennedy laying just over 2-1.
Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad
The line on this fight has yet to be released as Luque is a late replacement for Lyman Good.
UFC Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Thiago Alves -160 vs. Jim Miller
The prelims oftentimes don’t get as much action as the main card and there has been very little line movement on this fight.
Rafael Natal -160 vs. Tim Boetsch
This is another fight that has seen very little line movement.
Katlyn Chookagian -180 vs. Liz Carmouche
This is an interesting fight with Carmouche coming in with the bigger name but it is Chookagian who is favored. Bettors have yet to take a position on this fight.
