Who do bettors like at UFC on FOX 23 on Saturday night? The main card on FOX features four fights with the headliner having Julianna Pena taking on Valentina Shevchenko. The other three fights on the main card have Donald Cerrone vs. Jorge Masvidal, Francis Ngannou vs. Andrei Arlovski and Jason Knight vs. Alex Caceres. Bettors are taking the underdogs in three of those four fights. There are eight fights on the preliminary card with six on FS1 and two on UFC Fight Pass. Let’s look at who bettors like in each of the 12 fights.
Bet on UFC at BookMaker.eu
UFC on FOX 23 Main Card (FOX)
Valentina Shevchenko -120 vs. Julianna Pena (rounds 4.5 over -160)
This fight opened as a pick and bettors first took a small liking to Pena but recently the money has been on Shevchenko as she is now a -120 favorite. This is expected to be a very competitive fight so while bettors are slightly backing Shevchenko it is unlikely this line will move much off the current number.
Donald Cerrone -150 vs. Jorge Masvidal (rounds 2.5 over -215)
The Cowboy is favored in this one but bettors have taken a small liking to the underdog as Cerrone opened at -160 and the line is down to -150.
Francis Ngannou -400 vs. Andrei Arlovski (rounds 1.5 under -190)
Bettors are backing the underdog in this one which is a major surprise to me as Ngannou has looked great in this career going 9-1 including 4-0 in the UFC with four finishes. Ngannou opened up as a -425 favorite and that number is down to -400. There has been some major line movement on this fight and it has not all been one way. Ngannou started at -425 and that number went up to -450 but then it got hit hard as bettors took Arlovski. There has been a bit of a buyback as Ngannou was down to -380 at one point. Bettors may like the underdog but unless Arlovski lands a lucky shot it should be Ngannou winning this fight and one way or another it probably won’t make it out of the second round.
Jason Knight -155 vs. Alex Caceres (rounds 2.5 over -235)
Bettors have a small opinion on the underdog as Knight opened up at -160 and the number is down to -155.
UFC on FOX 23 Preliminary Card (FS1)
Sam Alvey -150 vs. Nate Marquardt (rounds 1.5 over -135)
Bettors are all over the place on this fight as Alvey opened at -145 and was bet up to -160 before the number came back down to -150.
Raphael Assuncao -145 vs. Aljamain Sterling (rounds 2.5 over -265)
Bettors are backing the underdog in this one as Assuncao opened at -160 and the number is down to -145.
Li Jingliang -145 vs. Bobby Nash (rounds 2.5)
Bettors are backing the favorite to a limited extent in this one as Jingliang opened at -140 and is now up to -145.
Jordan Johnson -220 vs. Luis Henrique da Silva (rounds 1.5 over -165)
This is another one in which the bettors have a small opinion on the favorite as Johnson opened up at -215 and is up to -220.
Eric Spicely -118 vs. Alessio Di Chirico (rounds 1.5 over -170)
Bettors have taken Spicely a little bit as the number opened at -115 and is up to -118.
J.C. Cottrell -140 vs. Jason Gonzalez (rounds 1.5 over -199)
There has been no real movement on the odds for this fight.
UFC on FOX 23 Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Marcos Rogerio de Lima -175 vs. Jeremy Kimball
Bettors have yet to pick a side in this matchup.
Eric Shelton -115 vs. Alexandre Pantoja (rounds 2.5 over -180)
This is another fight where bettors have yet to take a side.
UFC on FOX 23 takes place on Saturday, January 28 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. The feature bout has Valentina Shevchenko taking on Julianna Pena with the co-main event a bout between Donald Cerrone and Jorge Masvidal.
