BAYERN BECOME BOYS TO BEAT

Group F was really never supposed to be a huge hassle for Bayern Munich, but at 2-0-1 with six points and a +6 goal differential, there's no doubt that it is going to be on its way to the next phase of this competition. This match against Arsenal at home on Thursday might be the last tripping point for the Bavarian giants, especially after losing in London just a couple weeks ago.

Bayern though, has been dominating at home. Just go back and look at the results of late. 4-0 against Cologne. 5-1 against Borussia Dortmund. 5-0 against Dinamo Zagreb. 5-1 against Wolfsburg. 2-1 against Augsburg in a match which really wasn't that close. 5-0 against Hamburg. Those are the results. If the Germans continue to be this dominant on their home turf, they're going to be a virtually impossible team to take out of this tournament when it comes to the home and home series.

CHELSEA BORDERING ON CATASTROPHIC COLLAPSE

Chelsea is in a heck of a lot of trouble in the English Premier League, and the fact of the matter is that it's boiling over into the Champions League as well. It's anyone's guess how much longer Jose Mourinho is still going to be in charge at Stamford Bridge, just like it's anyone's guess whether the Blues are ever going to play up to their abilities.

They sure as heck haven't yet in the Champions League either. The Blues beat up Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0 at home, but aside from that, they have a draw against Dynamo Kiev and a 2-1 loss against Porto. It isn't a necessity to beat Dynamo Kiev at home on Thursday to have a shot at advancing, but losing the match will be the end of Chelsea almost for certain.

ZENIT BECOMES DANGEROUS OUT OF GROUP H

Russian teams don't generally have the best luck here in the Champions League, but if Zenit St. Petersburg can keep up this attacking front, Mother Nature could provide a lot of the defense.

Thus far, Zenit has gone a perfect 3-0-0 in three matches against Valencia, Lyon and Racing Gent, and the club has scored at least two goals in each of those matches in somewhat shocking fashion. The Russian side has an away date with Lyon, and if they can find a way to steal just a single point, they'll play their way into the knockout rounds. That isn't our concern, though. Obviously, Zenit is going to need a lucky draw to avoid the big boys in the Champions League, but being a winner of a group will go a long way towards potentially getting into the last eight.

REAL MADRID THE TOP SIDE IN SPAIN

Barcelona isn't quite right at the moment. The team has put up 21 points in nine matches in La Liga, but it has managed just a +8 goal differential in those matches.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid continues to just stomp foes. The Galacticos have gone +20 in 10 matches domestically, and it has yet to lose a match. Both of these teams are going to end up getting through the group stage of the Champions League with ease assuming there are no trips, but the fact that both clubs have fallen from the top favorites to second and third respectively could be opportunistic, especially knowing that, assuming these teams each win their groups, they can't meet until at least the quarterfinals.
