There's a cruel injustice in the Champions League from time to time. A team like Atletico Madrid, clearly the third best at best in Spain, has drawn against Leicester City in the last eight of the tournament, but Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, perhaps the two best teams in the world at the moment, are stuck playing against each other in the same stage. It'll make for great drama for us in April, but it won't be fair to the team that will end up disappointed on the outside of the UCL with two stages left to play.
At 2:45 p.m. ET, tune into FOX Sports 1 for live television coverage of this Champions League match on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Allianz Arena.

Odds Analysis
A cracker of a match, this is. Bayern Munich has to be favored in this fixture, simply because it has to get the edge in this home-and-home duel to have any shot going back to the Bernabeu. The Reds have been fantastic at home this year, going 11-3-0 in the Bundesliga, and this home field advantage at the Allianz is second to few all across Europe and second to absolutely none in Germany.
That's why the Reds have to be -125 favorites. You'd like to think they're going to beat Real Madrid more often than not, but Los Blancos definitely aren't dogs lightly anywhere on the planet. It's a rare match for them for sure.
The total of a flat 3 is a sign that there could be some fireworks as there were all over the continent in the first knockout round in February and March.
How They Got Here
Real Madrid has already dealt one bit of tremendous injustice out here in the Champions League. In the knockout round of the competition, Real Madrid finished second best to Borussia Dortmund. The punishment for finishing second in a group, of course, is playing against a team that wins its group. The poor sucker that had to face Real Madrid? Napoli, one of the top teams in Italy. The competition? It may as well have been a non-starter. Real Madrid was up 3-1 at home, and it came back to Italy and won by a matching 3-1 score.
The path that Bayern Munich took was relatively easy to get to this point. The Reds were actually second best in Group D to Atletico Madrid in the group stage, and they got to deal out their own bit of injustice by running into Group A winner, Arsenal. The Gunners never stood a shot in spite of the fact that they went up a goal in the early going at the Allianz. Bayern Munich struck back five times in the first leg to put that home-and-home duel away. For good measure, Arsenal also went up 1-0 at home and lost by a matching 5-1 result.

The names in this match are just amazing. James Rodriguez. Cristiano Ronaldo. Robert Lewandowski. Manuel Neuer. The list goes on and on of the studs these two teams are bringing to the table together.
We just aren't all that sure about this Real Madrid team, though. Los Blancos have already failed in the Copa del Rey against Celta Vigo. Now, they're here facing their toughest challenge yet against Bayern Munich on the road in Germany. Whereas Real Madrid has to be on the top of its game every single match in La Liga, Bayern Munich knows that this is the Super Bowl. This is why you come to Munich, to play in matches like this one at home against a club like Real Madrid.
Though we don't think this is going to be a decided battle at the end of 90 minutes, we do think the Reds are at least going to get their noses in front in what could turn out to be an epic start.
