The break between the Champions League group stage and the start of the knockout rounds feels like an eternity, but the biggest club soccer competition in the world is back at it once again. Eight of the last 16 teams already played their first leg of their two-legged ties, while the last eight will get back on the pitch this Tuesday and Wednesday.

In all reality, there are still probably just three teams which have a chance to win the Champions League this year. Real Madrid essentially saw off AS Roma on the road on Wednesday with a 2-0 win on Italian soil, and now, it would take a collapse of epic proportion to not get into the quarters. Considering the fact that the Galacticos are 11-1-1 this year in La Liga at home and are +37 in goals in those 13 matches, it's highly unlikely that a middling Italian team can come to the Bernabeu and win by two goals or more.
The other two big boys will be in action on Tuesday afternoon. Both open on the road, but that isn't stopping Bayern Munich and Barcelona from being comfortable favorites.
The Catalans are -157 favorites on the road at Arsenal, and they're -625 to win the two-legged tie. As long as they score at least one goal at the Emirates, we can't see them ultimately not getting through to the quarterfinals.
Bayern Munich picked up probably the hardest draw imaginable against Juventus. The Italian giants are incredibly tough to beat at home, a task which Bayern Munich will try to conquer on Tuesday. The Bavarians are +155 on the road, but their real advantage will come back at home. Bayern Munich really crushed teams last year at home in the Champions League, and Juve's form on the road against tough competition isn't all that spectacular. One would think that Juventus has to get an outright victory to have any chance of progressing.
Beyond those three teams, there isn't a lot to see here. The tie between Benfica and Zenit St. Petersburg is close at the moment with the Portuguese side up 1-0 after 90 of the 180 minutes, but neither team is really expected to make any sort of a run in the Champions League. Sure, PSG has a 2-1 lead on Chelsea, but there's no guaranteeing that the Parisians are going to get past their trip to Stamford Bridge. For our money, PSG's +750 price is probably the worst on the board amongst all of the Champions League contenders.
Wolfsburg has an interesting price on its side at 45 to 1, as it basically has secured a spot in the last eight after beating KAA Gent 3-2 on Belgian soil last Wednesday. The return leg shouldn’t be a problem, and it's not like we haven't see the Wolves compete against Bayern Munich this year. It's still a stretch to think that they could win this whole competition with three more rounds to get through, but just being the last eight is notable.
Manchester City and Atletico Madrid are both amongst the favorites to win the UCL as well due to the fact that they're comfortable -375 and -465 favorites respectively to get into the quarterfinals against Dynamo Kiev and PSV Eindhoven respectively.
The draw for the quarterfinals of this competition will take place on March 18, and all bets are off as to who faces who since teams will no longer be seeded and national affiliation will no longer matter. The luck of the draw could pit Bayern Munich against Real Madrid or something of the sorts, and that would really end up throwing a wrench into the Champions League odds. In the end, the best teams are the ones which ultimately win, but it's worth noting that the path for some will be significantly harder than others.
