Soccer Odds - England vs. France Match Preview

England-vs-France-Odds

Emotions are going to be running high on the pitch at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, as the French national soccer team will be united in its trip to London in a friendly match against England. It's the first time France will take center stage in international competition since last Friday's shocking explosions outside of the Stade de France.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Brits are the slight favorites in this match, something that isn't surprising considering how well they've historically played at home, particularly here at Wembley Stadium. There also has to be a sense of question surrounding Les Bleus after such an odd and horrifying experience at the Stade de France a few days ago.

England however, is only a +158 choice on the moneyline and is PK -122 on the Asian Handicap. France is being booked at PK +102 on the Asian Handicap or +198 on the moneyline.

These friendly matches often end up being drab affairs, and these two teams are probably no exception. It's only going to take two goals to get to the total, though the vig on the over is set at -120.

QUOTE TO NOTE

"The sport of today can show us what the world of tomorrow will be like. In sport, we can share fabulous emotions with people that we can't even talk to. In normal society, that is not yet possible. We will stand as one at Wembley." – French manager Didier Deschamps on his team's decision to play this match in London.

RECENT FORM

England's results this year have been awfully good, though the Three Lions haven't had to play much of a schedule along the way due to being in a relatively easy group in Euro 2016 qualifying. The Brits ended up suffering their first loss of the calendar year in a friendly match against Spain in Alicante by a 2-0 mark. Not only was that the first loss of England's 2015 season, but it was the first time the club allowed a goal since June, ending a run of four straight shutouts. Then again, we must stress that in those games, the English knocked off Lithuania, Estonia, Switzerland and San Marino, not exactly the best teams in the world.

France has won five straight matches dating back to a June loss on the road in Albania. The French have only played friendlies, of course, knowing that they are hosting Euro 2016, thus don't have to go through qualification. They beat Germany at home 2-0 in that scary match last Monday at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, but that wasn't nearly the only impressive result they've put together of late. France also has a 2-1 win in Copenhagen and a 1-0 victory against Portugal.

ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION

It's really tough to say that the French should be favored in this match, because that just isn't the case. The Brits have a heck of a squad, and they can certainly put some goals on the board when they get going in attack.

However, France just feels like a motivated team right now to win. Remember in that Germany game, both Olivier Giroud and Andre-Pierre Gignac were on point. Lassnan Diarra looked promising for much of that match against one of the best sides in the world, and he'll be holding a special place in his heart in this match too after losing a relative in the blast just outside the Stade de France.

It might be the emotional pick, but France feels like it has a real chance to win this one.
