Jose Mourinho knows that he was brought to Manchester United to win silverware. He's not going to get any of it this year in England, but he still has a chance on the continental scale. The Red Devils are comfortable favorites to see off Celta Vigo, but the task probably isn't going to be quite as easy as the Europa League semifinal odds suggest.

Odds Analysis
Manchester United has failed to really put away most of its foes in the Europa League this year, causing a lot of undo stress on its fans and its side. The Red Devils took longer to score than they surely should have against Celta Vigo in the first leg, and the fact that they only left Spain up 1-0 instead of by a much bigger margin is a bit disconcerting.
Still, the Red Devils are comfortable 1-goal favorites on the Asian Handicap and are expected to see this out relatively easily to get to the Europa League finale in Solna.
The total of 2.5 almost feels high given how many incredible defensive battles the Red Devils have played of late on the European stage.
The First Leg
Manchester United probably deserved a better fate than a 1-0 victory away to Celta Vigo, but in fairness, Sergio Alvarez probably deserved a clean sheet as well for as well as he played in that initial leg.
Alvarez pushed aside a number of chances the Red Devils had, but in the end, it was a Marcus Rashford free kick that ultimately won it for United. It was a poor moment in an otherwise brilliant match for Alvarez, and it had to be a huge disappointment in the grounds in Spain after a stalwart first hour or so to keep United off the board.
The real problem for Celta Vigo though, was the lack of chances for Igao Aspas. Does anyone even recall him getting a memorable touch in the scoring area? We surely don't, and this came on a day when the Spanish side had 58 percent of the possession and tallied a relatively sizeable nine shots.

With Manchester United's loss at Arsenal over the weekend, there's now seemingly no doubt whatsoever that the club is on its way to the Europa League for a second straight season unless it can win this tournament.
It'll be interesting to see the type of side that Mourinho decides to throw out there on Thursday night. On Sunday, he allowed Axel Tuanzebe to get his first senior start in the EPL, but here in the Europa, we can't imagine that to be the case.
We see a little bit more open of an affair on this night than we saw in Spain a week ago, especially if Wayne Rooney is forced into the midfield due to the absences of some of the other top stars in the lineup. Just naturally, Mourinho is going to ask his team to do less in the way of defending and more in the way of attacking, and that alone should set up the Red Devils for a much better result in terms of total goals on the scoreboard.
Can Celta Vigo hang in there? We don't doubt the fact that it can, especially if it can find a way to create a glorious chance in the first 10 minutes or so as it did in the opening leg, but in the end, this is still going to be too much to overcome in its first ever European semifinal.
Europa League Odds: Manchester United 2, Celta Vigo 1
