For the first time this year, Mexico will call upon its national team to play in a friendly match. Unfortunately for the fans traveling down to Miami for the game, the team they see won't necessarily be one of tremendous quality, something which could give Senegal a bit of a leg up in a match which it will be an underdog for sure.
There will be soccer odds at BookMaker.eu available for this match the day of the game.
ODDS ANALYSIS
Mexico carries a big name into this match, and that's part of the reason why it's going to be a massive favorite. However, thanks to the fact that this is not a part of the international fixture schedule with FIFA, many of the top players were left behind at their domestic clubs. Many of the Mexican Liga MX teams decided to not allow their stars to participate in this match in Miami. Normally speaking, clubs are required to let their teams go represent their countries for international play, but since this date was more or less thrown together for the almighty dollar at a time where FIFA does not sanction international play, the options laid with the players and the teams themselves.
Senegal, of course, is going to be sending one of its stronger sides, knowing that all of the domestic players were allowed to head off to Miami for this one.
ROSTER ANALYSIS
As a result, El Tri is set to field an extremely young team, many of which will be playing inside of a domed stadium for the first time in their careers.
That's not to say that this team is completely void of talent, though. Juan Carlos Osorio, who was just appointed as the manager of Mexico's team, has called upon three top youngsters at Pachuca in the Liga MX, Hirving Lozano, Erick Gutierrez and Rodolfo Pizarro, all of which are set to debut together in this match against Senegal.
Mexico has a serious lack of depth up front as it is, and the only man who is probably capable of cracking the regular roster for the Confederations Cup next year is Eduardo Herrera, who will certainly have to score in this one if El Tri is going to run up an impressive victory.
Senegal won't have Diafra Sakho or Sadio Mane, the two men they really count upon up front, knowing that both are basically tied to the Premier League. However, men like Moussa Konate, Papa Alioune Ndiaye and Issa Sarr should all get to have some playing time here while trying to replace some of the vets of this side.
ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION
Mexico actually hasn't lost a match since June of last year at Copa America, and that includes going through the CONCACAF Gold Cup with a 4-2-0 mark to win the title.
El Tri has been flying high since the win in the Confederations Cup playoff against the United States in Pasadena, rolling to wins against Panama, El Salvador and Honduras without much muss or fuss.
However, this is a significantly different team to step on the field on Wednesday, as Osorio has already admitted that this is a giant experiment and will be an experiment in formation as well, perhaps with just one striker up front.
Senegal, which will surely be at least a one-goal underdog in this match, is worth a play on the Asian Handicap. We don't think there's enough talent here for this team to ultimately win in Miami, but a draw is entirely possible. The Lions have a lot of talent off in the Premier League in England, and what that really has done is build up the back of the roster as well. You might not recognize most of the names Senegal is bringing here to Miami, but watch this match and you'll grow to appreciate just how talented this small African side really is.
