Soccer Odds - United States vs. South Africa Match Preview

Picks-USWNT-vs.-South-Africa

The United States Women's National Team only has two matches left to go before heading to Rio for the Olympics. The first of those matches should be a relatively easy encounter against South Africa, a team which isn't used to competing at this sort of level in women's soccer quite yet.

We'll have all of the great soccer odds at BookMaker.eu for this and all of the U.S. Women's National Team matches all summer long.

ODDS ANALYSIS

There's no doubt that the Americans are going to be the huge favorites in this match and will likely win by at least three or four goals, if not a heck of a lot more than that. The Yanks have conceded goals in just two matches this year out of 13, and South Africa, a team which hasn't really played a single side of quality in quite some time, isn't likely to put up much of a fight.

ROSTER ANALYSIS

The big problem South Africa's roster has in this match is the fact that it's a young side, and most of these ladies have never experienced life outside of Africa professionally. Virtually the entire team plays at home in a weak South African league, and the only player of any note whatsoever is captain, Janine Van Wyk, who will be trying to keep things together at the back.

The roster which Jill Ellis has called upon for this match has a familiar look to it. Becky Sauerbrun will captain the team with Carli Lloyd potentially not being available due to injury. Heather O'Reilly, Tobin Heath, Alex Morgan, Christen Press and Ali Krieger will all surely be in the side, while Meghan Klingenberg and Kelley O'Hara are likely going to be starting at the back.

LIVE BETTING

The big issue here for South Africa is going to be producing attempts at goal. Not only does Hope Solo rarely let one get past her, but she rarely even has to make much of a save either.

Go ahead and look at the South African forwards. Portia Modise does have 114 Caps in her career, but aside from that, there's just no experience whatsoever. If this team couldn't score against the Netherlands, how in the heck is it going to score against the United States, the best team in the world?

QUICK PICK

And that's why you really have no choice but to go with the Stars and Stripes on Saturday. The Americans are the cream of the crop in the world, and we wouldn't fancy any side against them for the most part, especially not a team which hasn't challenged itself against any of the top competitors in the world in recent years.

This should just be yet another successful tune-up for the United States on the road to the Olympics, while South Africa is very likely set to get railroaded. We'd be surprised if this match was anywhere near competitive by the time halftime rolls around, and the crowd at Soldier Field should be treated to quite a goal-scoring fest from the hometown side throughout the whole 90 minutes.
