Sevilla has a chance to grab two major trophies, but they have been really struggling in La Liga. At the end of April, they will take on Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, and they are currently level with Manchester United in the knockout rounds of Champions League. Yet Sevilla is in danger of missing out on Champions League entirely next season. They are seven points back of fourth-place Valencia.

Atletico have been extremely impressive in La Liga action recently. They have won four straight, including a win over Valencia, and haven’t dropped points since a loss to Espanyol at the end of December.
Sevilla have had their fair share of woes in La Liga. They emerged victorious in their last two, but have lost to Eibar, Alaves, and Real Betis over the last two months. Losing outright to teams that are considered to be in the mid-tier of Spanish soccer has really hurt this team in domestic play.
This will be an opportunity for revenge for Atletico. Sevilla sent them crashing out of Copa del Rey in the quarterfinals last month, winning 5-2 on aggregate. An Atletico win here would make it very difficult for Sevilla to end up in the top four in La Liga.
Key Absences
Give credit to Atletico Madrid for continuing to win without some of their key players. Three weeks ago, central defenders Stefan Savic and Diego Godin were knocked out against Sevilla. Godin has been playing through pain after getting a few teeth knocked out, while Savic has been out entirely.
Savic may return for this match, but another contributor might be out for this one. Midfielder Lucas Hernandez was injured and had to be subbed out last week against Bilbao. His status is in question for this game.
Sevilla is relatively healthy for this one. Ever Banega, Joaquin Correa, Luis Muriel, and Simon Kjaer had been hurt, but were able to play against Manchester United earlier in the week. The only concern is Sebastian Gorchia.
Player to Watch
Antoine Griezmann is one of the most clinical finishers around and is the key to Atletico’s attack. Whereas most other major clubs rely on their forwards to find the net, Griezmann is the focal point of the attack for this club.
Griezmann is a wanted man. Barcelona and Manchester United are both making serious pushes to acquire him, but he is set to stay in Madrid for the rest of the season. The club knows that getting rid of him would remove their best offensive threat, as the forwards have been tough to depend on.
Sevilla has had some woes along the back line in La Liga play. Griezmann will be able to exploit them and find the back of the net.
