Though Toronto FC has staked a huge claim to the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs in the early going, New York City FC isn't going away. The Sky Blues have picked up 20 points in 12 matches this year, and this should prove to be a really good test for a young Atlanta United squad still trying to get its footing at this level.

Odds Analysis
Rare is the road team who is favored in the MLS, but we're going to see it here in this match in all likelihood. New York City FC, fresh off of its 3-0 thrashing of Orlando City down in the Sunshine State last Sunday, has been incredibly impressive for the most part. The team has three wins in its seven away matches on the term.
Atlanta United has been all over the place this year. The club has 15 points and certainly isn't out of the playoff push by any stretch of the imagination, but its inconsistent play surely has been noticed by one and all. This is a team capable of scoring four goals against anyone in the MLS, but it can concede four any given night, too.
Key Injuries
Josef Martinez should be back from his quadriceps injury at some point in the near future, but that doesn't appear to be this week. Jacob Peterson is also battling a leg injury that is keeping him on the touchline in street clothes for Atlanta United.
New York City FC is in pretty good shape on the injury front. Ronald Matarrita and Andrea Pirlo are both out of the fold, but aside from that, the team isn't battling a lot else at the moment.
Recent Form
Like we said, you never know what you're going to get out of Atlanta United. After picking up just one point in three matches from April 30 through May 14, the Five Stars went out and nearly bagged five goals against Houston last weekend. The 4-1 victory was a great match, and surely, that will help breed confidence in the locker room.
New York City FC crunched Orlando City over the weekend, handing the Lions their first ever loss in their new Orlando City Stadium. That snapped a minor two-game skid and at least ensured that four points would be acquired on this four-game roadie that is concluding this weekend.

The last time City played at home, it beat this same Atlanta United team by a 3-1 count. It wasn't a tremendously dominant game with the exception of two minutes in which Rodney Wallace and Maxi Morales scored for NYCFC. The rest of the performance though, was more than good enough. The Five Stars flat out had no answers in the second half, and as soon as it started to rain, it was a deluge.
If Atlanta United is going to try this high press attack once again, this isn't going to work well. David Villa, one of the best players in the history of this league at this point, is just in tip top form, and he has himself a goal against Atlanta United already this season. Don't be shocked if he opens up his ledger once again with another goal to help propel NYCFC to yet another away win.
MLS Odds: New York City FC 2, Atlanta United 0
